I might be switching to PS2 which means new controls. How bad do you guys think it is?

Well, if you're used to the keyboard set up for PC you can use it for PS2 and ignore your controller, that's what I do when I switch between the two. You'll also have to remake all your macros on the PS2 as well.

The PS2 version looks so gross.

wicked, i never knew i could use a keyboard for ps2, thanks

basically... its the same thing..

If you're into how I am with video games:

gameplay > graphics

then its the same thing.. just different screen and system

You can't remove weather effects that I've seen, other than that, it's still kinda neat I guess, I prefer PC though.

I used a keyboard and mouse for about a year and a half. I then got an adaptor for a PS2 controller for the PC, cause one of my friends play on a PS2 and he recommend me to try it out. I've been using the controller now for close to six months and i'd never go back to using the keyboard and mouse.

It takes some getting used to but give it a try. Definately get a keyboard though, typing on a PS2 controller is a bitch.

I think the biggest difference (I play on a friend's PS2 occasionally) is the way things are drawn. Names shrink and fade out VERY quickly as you move away from things, and are impossible to see from even close distances, and mobs can be quite difficult to spot due to this and the low resolution.
Some of the menus are a bit cluttered since they're so big, but it's not really an issue.
Honestly though, I don't know how PS2 players could ever claim an NM... :/

I hate PC games. They are made of freeze and command error.

That's not usually the games. It's microsoft.

PC > Console imo
At least when it comes to online games like this. Personally, I don't like my consoles with hard drives and online capability, but thats just me.

I call it the turbo button.
PLus i've notcied stuff loads faster on ps2 by 1/2 a secondish so you can try and voke a bit earlier. Ps2 doesnt lag as much in high lag areas like pre toa jueno or at least lags in a more convenient way. I've been using pc so that I can watch tv lately so I cant remeber what it was about the difference in how they handle lag that I liked so much.
Make sure you have a good tv screen. Youre sitting back farther than on a pc so you need a bigger screeen to make sure you can see everyting properly.

You're crazy, the only time I've ever lagged on PC is when I don't have anything filtered or character models limited in dynamis :/

Since the gameplay is the same on all systems, its not like comparing ff11 to gears of war. The pc version just beats the ps2 version in everyway. I play at 1600x1200 myself :).

Oh, noooonono, I mean more trivial NMs, where you'd have to spot it, ex: hoo mjuu, mee deggi, etc.
I do agree though on AVERAGE, PS2 is more reliable, but both sides have their ups and downs.

I think you guys have only seen the graphics on crappy TVs, my TV has same graphics as my computer. I'm a ps2 user, and way back when VE dropped the Emporer hairpin, I got the claim about 70% of the time I camped him...

i claimed more NM on ps2 than i have on pc. i played on ps2 for some years too, i started on pc so i can multi task but thats not possible now so im moving to 360
