PS2 woes and FFXII deprivation ; ;

SO i got my ffxii a a while ago, havnt gotten too far, as i am on that giant wall-boss thing at the temple place... i forget the names. orz

anyways. my ps2 is old. like, first release in stores brand spankin new old. and... well... a while back it started that "Disc Read Error" thing

now i take pretty good care of my ps2 games, so they're not scratched much.

So about a month ago it started doin the error thing pretty frequently, so i looked on line for some help. took my ps2 apart and cleaned it as instructed. Worked fine again.

But now... now its not reading. at all. anything. So what does that mean? no ffxii for me.. and its making me a very...very...very sad panda D:

aside from taking it apart and cleaning it, is there anything i can do? ; ; been hitting restart on my ps2 for the past 2 hours ._.

If your willing to spend a little you may as well pop off and pick up a new PS2, dont know how much they are over there in the states but their only about 80 quid here in old England, brand new.

$600 for a ps3 is crazy. Sell it on ebay.

Please don't get a slim PS2. They are horrible. If you can, shell out 109.99 at gamestop for a Used or you can go on Ebay and look for a cheap one. My PS2 doesn't like reading except for when it's standing up, so maybe that could be with yours as well.

I had the same problem recently...ended up selling the broken one for 40 bucks and getting a slim ps2 ;x
