Ok, I know it comes with Wi Fi, blu-ray, rechargeable batteries. Question is, do any type of HD cables come with it? HDMI?

I had to buy mine extra.

HDMI doesn't come with it, but you can get them dirt cheap online so its not a big expense, unless you are one of those idiots that pays $50+ on one.

I have a 40 inch, 1080i tv, is HDMI worth it?

<_<; I'm one of those idiots.

monoprice.com is your friend.

YES.

There will be a giant jump in quality just going to a digital cable from an analog one.

You can find cheap HDMI cables in stores too; all of mine I bought for $5(before my employee discount too) at Fry's.

Or amazon. I got mine for 5 bucks with shipping.

I wish I had an HD TV :( but I r broke

So, any HDMI cable will work with the PS3? If so, then why do some of them cost $100 at bestbuy (the xbox 360 ones do)? lol

It's a standardized cable, so yes they all work. They cost differently because the average consumer isn't educated on how digital works; the performance of a $5 cable is no worse than a $100 cable. The cheap cables don't pay the sales people any money, that's why they sell you the expensive ones.

Because people are stupid and still buy them. I think my cable cost something like $5 as well.

And my salesperson was nice. He actually let me chose between the expensive one for 10x the price, and the cheap one. He was even nice enough to tell me that there's actually no difference between them at all.

Not that I'd have bought the expensive one if he didn't tell me about it. Because I wouldn't. There's really no difference between the end result of cables. Sure, one might be prettier then the other, but that's no reason to pay 10x the price.

Its like a prada bag. That copy for $10 on the street is most likely even of better quality than the real deal.

There is a big difference with analog cables, just not with digital ones; although the difference in price for analog cables isn't nearly as big.

Normally you don't need to buy analog cables though. They're usually included.

Now, computer and USB cables on the other hand... If I buy a printer, I'd love to actually get something besides the power cable with it /sigh. Oh well.

They only include the cheapest and shittiest quality of the shittiest type of cables; you could get better performance by spending $5 on some new cables, easily.

Most printers come with a USB cable now a days, since they're cheap as hell too.

Yeah, any HDMI cable will work like they have all been saying. The only reason why certain companies get away with selling $80 cables is the brand. Sure, if you want to buy Monster, you are going to be paying a shitload more, but that nice generic brand 2 feet to your right will be just as good.

Yes, but I've never noticed a difference in image quality with shitty quality and good quality on analog cables.

And they never include anything but the power cable in Sweden. As I said, quite annoying.

You must have only used composite cables then, because there's a big jump going from composite to component; hell it's visible just going from composite to S-video.

Actually don't remember. Was quite a long time ago :P

Same in the UK and it does my head in, I order a new printer it gets here and then I have to go into fucking town to get a damn cable for it (I always forget to order one with it).
