I'm currently using a PS3 controller when I play on my laptop. I really like the feel of it and have tried ta few "knock-offs" but didn't care for them. When I play for the most part it works good.

The problem I run into is when there are a lot of selectable objects next to me. Like if I'm standing in front of the AH or Dynamis anything with a lot of people. I start having a lot of trouble targeting things. It's definetly not lag. I try to select a mob and it acts like I'm holding down the button and keeps on scrolling between available choices. Like it has a hard time stopping on the target I want.

Anyone else run into this or know what could be wrong. I currently use Sixaxis_PS3_Win32_Driver_For_PC to make my controller work.

Thanks.....

Sounds like your controller blows, or the driver, if it only happens on the PC and not your PS3. I used a Logitech PS2 styled controller since day one of FFXI over here and never had this problem. I also didn't have to install drivers for it either.

question, all buttons etc. work for you? The sticks don't work for me with the drivers I use, so just wondering if you might be using the same. Every driver I found for PS3 controllers were the same, made by some Chinese guy, which is why I'm asking.

I never got my PS3 or 360 controllers to work correctly, so I just bought a cheap logitech PS2-style controller for about $20 and haven't had any issues. Where did you get the drivers?

Yes all the buttons and sticks work. When there's not too many people in the zone it works perfectly. I've only ever found one set of drivers that work for it. Probably the same one you used.

I used to have the $20 cheapo logitech but I hated the feel of it. But I never had the issue I'm having now with the logitech. If you google "PS3 controller PC" you get a ton of links for it. As far as a know only one person wrote drivers for it. It's called LibUSB-Win32 and you have to run some program called ps3sixaxis_en.exe every time you plug in your controller for it to work.

The drivers I found don't have all buttons though. Evrything but the sticks work, which means it can be hard playing some games =/
