Well a lot of people downplay how many exclusives PS3 is getting, but I think when you add them all up it looks pretty nice.

So let's see what I've got off the top of my head, we can add to this as people chime in at what I've forgotten.

Warhawk
Littlebigplanet
Socom
Metal Gear Solid 4
Heavenly Sword
Lair
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Killzone 2
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
Ratchet and Clank
Folk Soul
White Knight Story(I'm hoping it comes out with at least english subtitles so I can import.)
Hot Shots Golf 5
Time Crisis 4
Eye of Judgement

Games that we have no idea when they'll come out:
Disgaea 3
FF13
Infamous
The Getaway 3
Eight Days
Tekken 6

I must say, it's not a bad lineup. I doubt I'll be picking up Tekken 6, but the rest I intend to buy. Plus I'm intending to pick up a few multiplats and timed exclusives:

GTA4
Assassin's Creed
Haze
Unreal Tournament 3
Call of Duty 4
GRAW 2.

This really will be an expensive ass year.

I dont think many downplay the exclusives PS3 will have, its just he big goys are not till 08'. 360 has a title to answer each of these, except LBP atm. They even have more;; But for a gamer like me it doesnt matter, i pick which i like from each system as i have both lol. You should realy include Singstar also. Gay as i may feel it is, its million selling franchise.

Sells more then half the games you listed tho fire... Sales count;;

I remember on the original socom I played in a singing channel... That was the most retarded thing I've ever done. It was a bunch of germans singing to crappy europop while I went around owning them with pistols.

MGS4 is multiplatform. Square-Enix hasn't said officially, but the rumormill is saying that Final Fantasy XIII will be multiplatform.

Honestly who really cares if they do end up multiplatform? It'd give more people the opportunity to play the game(s), and would bring in more money to the developers, which are both good in my book.

Exclusives are relevant to building an install base, be it something to make someone buy a console the day it comes out or something to make them buy it a year later at a difference price point, or when a few more exclusives comes out they want as well. I think it's important to have a good list of exclusives coming out so let's not talk of speculation of multiplatform-ness.

There are a few 360 titles I expect will make their way onto the PS3 I'm not declaring as "multiplatforms" because there's been no official announcement.
As well there are a few playstation only series that I expect will be PS3 exclusives(for example Suikoden), that I'm not talking about. Let's just say what we know.

I think it's a nice of way of saying, "What color is the sky in your world?"
Blue, like the rest of Earth.

Like the article says, the official game FFXIII is still PS3 only, that could change very quickly considering Square's current relationship with Sony. For MGS4, same thing. Konami isn't exactly on good terms with Sony either.

Now let's get one thing straight: I'm not bashing the PS3. I like the system quite a bit, but I just feel that until it gets some serious new exclusive titles under its belt, it's going to fail. But Sony's just too arrogant to take notice.

I work in a major retailer of video games, so it's my job to stay on top of news, information, and market trends. Even our company representatives tell us these things. I knew about the PS3 price drop four months ago. I also knew that the Xbox 360 is coming out with a new cooler-running chipset very soon, and possibly a price drop a long time before it was announced. Needless to say I'm well-informed in the gaming industry.

If you note the past few years, Sony has been losing exclusive titles. Grand Theft Auto went multiplatform. Resident Evil did the same. Right there were two major exclusive titles that went multiplatform. Guitar Hero took the same route. Final Fantasy is following the same trend. If you think the reason why FFXI was released on the 360 was because it was a new next-gen system, you're mistaken. The reason was when Sony switched to the small format PS2 with no room for the hard drive, that made Square angry. Why else do you think HDDs and expansion packs were pulled very quickly from the market? It took me three months to find a copy of Chains of Promathia for PS2 because I wasn't smart and I didn't buy it for both PC and PS2 when it came out. Square approached Microsoft and they were more than happy to have FFXI on the 360. Hell, even Xbox games that were exclusive went multiplatform. Ninja Gaiden is now available on PS3. Lost Planet is on PC. Gears of War is coming to PC. I really could go on...

Nobody ever says right off the bat that their game will be on multiple platforms, but truth be told, in this industry exclusive titles just don't pay anymore for developers, unless you're enormous and can afford to take a loss.

You forgot Home, but its more like a Sims style chat room than a game

K, warhawk looks like a ps2 game, with ps3 landscape. Not a fan of online only games, and is it charging $60?(late 07')
Socom wont even top Graw in terms of online gameplay, sure it will be popular tho as its ps3s fanbase likes it. Again an online only game;;(late 07')
GT5 prologue, heh have they confirmed it will be more then 1 car and 1 track? Anyways i dont get hyped for a tech demo, again... Whens the real game coming.(late 07')
Killzone2, now we know it may look good. (TBA08'). Too early to know about the gameplay.
Ratchet&Clank should be good, not my type of game but the past versions were good enough to keep me playing. (late 07') I like Jak & Dexter more, that ever coming?
Folksoul looks like a game i will like, yet it will get a 5/10 for a review lol and no date yet. (TBA)
MGS4 is going to be good for ps3, yet (08... )
WKStory here is a game that could be increbile, i am interested and want to see more.( TBA08').
Uncharted, i am undecided. I am pulling for it to be great. I mean it looks great, i want to play it and try tho.(late 07')
HeavenlySword will be good. I am not happy with some choices the devs made. But they are pushing this to be a very cinematic game, may make it cool. The use of sixaxis is completley stupid tho... Curving arrows through the air? wtf lol.(not sure, late 07'?)
Lair is i guess the game i look foward to the most. Those starwars games these devs made were too freakin fun. The AI looks like shit with the mass armies but i wont care.(Aug. 07')
LBP not for me at all, i like story, i like action. I am not a dev and atm dont want to be. Ill try it for fun but dont know atm if ill ever take it seriously.(early 08')
Not a bad lineup. Ill have fun regardless.

Warhawk will be the same price as all PS3 games, but it comes with an included PS3 bluetooth headset. You can also download the game from the PStore for cheeper, but obviously no headset.

I read the article, and it says what everyone has known all along, that FFXIII (you know, the game that people actually give a shit about) is PS3 exclusive, and that some spin-off games might to to systems that aren't PS3 or a cell phone (spoilers: Dissidia is going to PSP.) Welcome to 2006.

I won't even go into your hallucination that MGS4 is or ever has been anything but a PS3 exclusive.

Funfact: Sony didn't lose Resident Evil or GTA as "exclusives" on the PS3, they lost them on the PS2, to say otherwise is just dumb and therefore you cannot call them out as such.

I find it funny that you "knew" about the PS3 price drop when every Gamestop employee I know (quite a few) along with 90% of the internet heard about it through a leaked Circuit City ad about a week before the thing was to go public. The 360 hardware swap was well known in the public arena too, since they were reacting to the 33% fail rate in every conceivable way. The price drop was also a reaction to the PS3 price drop. Good to know your inside information is foolproof.

FFXIII and MGS4 are still listed as ONLY PS3, though the odds of MGS4 being timed are high. Square doesn't multiplatform. They have virtually no history of doing it with any franchise, unless you count re-releases like the 1-6 games. They were indeed pissed about Sony dropping the HDD, but when Microsoft didn't make it standard in the 360 they backed off them too. PS3 has what Square wants, raw graphics power and plenty of storage space. The devs at Square are probably drooling over how much they can leave stuff uncompressed, and add content they would have been forced to leave out of a DVD9. I don't see any probability of FFXIII crossing the line. Besides, if they're not happy with the PS3 install base, they can just remember what FFX did for PS2.

The PS3 doesn't need exclusives to thrive, it just needs a workaround for the price. If I've learned one thing from watching the gaming industry, "exclusivity" only lasts when the money's there. Once a company realizes the profit is half of what it could be, they tend to push the limits of any binding contracts they have. Look at Epic and how they are handling it, Gears of War was supposed to be the big selling point on the 360, now they're gonna make more money by releasing the PC with the added content. Unreal Tournament is a PC dominated franchise, but they'll sell tons more when they release the console versions with it. Same with the MMO world. FFXI wouldn't have made it without the cross-platform aspect. I'm fairly sure that the larger portion of Japan's players started out on the PS2 versions, and I know in America it boosted the English speaking market heavily. Then they released the 360 version and that sold not only systems, but more accounts that were needed to fuel the fire of new players.
