I connected my Ipod to my PS3 last night but the folder with the songs didn't list the song name. It had the songs labled as vcmux pvmt stpm and such...but it also had another folder labled as TOOL wich DID have my tool songs but only about 16 out of 50 were there and properlay named. Any one have an idea how I can get it to list ALL the songs by name? I just got my PS3 so I am still unaware of all the features and such.

That's how files usually look when you browse through your ipod on your computer without using itunes. I'm not sure if you can change their name without messing up the file, but you could try making a copy and changing the copy's name.

I'm under the impression that itunes has it's own format as opposed to mp3. Try putting the files in the ipod into the PC and if it's reconized as MP3. If not then ther might not be much you can do for the itune files which are more or less exclusive to itunes.

On the other hand if you do have MP3's and want to use you're ipod to transfer any files to you're PS3, Enable "Disk use mode" on the ipod and then feed it whatever you want to export into the PS3.

On a side note for further reference i'll mention, if you know it's an MP3 but nothing is understanding the file format, put on extension on the file.

name.mp3 << When naming files anything after the period would autimatically make it the extension.

Doing this on a PC will make the PC open up the file in whatever software is compatible with it. For MP3's it'll be media player or whatever software you have assigned to open run it.

The songs you uploaded to your iPod via iTunes won't be seen by the PS3 because they're stored differently. Now if you plug your iPod into your PC and use it like a flash drive, any music you put there should be viewable on any device, but not playable when you use the iPod.

My motorola phone uses itunes and can be plugged into my PS3(and charged by the PS3). About 10% of the songs are changed to a garbled titles. All the songs play. They're all MP3 format though as of when I transfered them from my PC originally.

Thats what sort of confuses me. It garbles 99% of the song names but there is one folder with 16 TooL songs that actually have the correct names. But it does play all the songs.
