i asked the game store here if they had any wii's in recently and he said...no but i have a (hes laughing at this point) Ps3! which i kindly while laughing said no thanks, he said "dont blame ya...cant sell these damn things!" XD
 
I read the comments from one of the blatant Sony fanboys. "Have fun paying for your online."

I hope they realize that nothing is really free, and if you're not paying for a service, it's going to suck mule dick. Well, if I had just dropped $600 on a PS3, I'd be disgusted to pay 4.15/month for online content too. Not really, because 4.15 is lol. I lose that much in change a month most likely.

I love mine thou, I got used to watching movies in 1080p. The PS3's future will not be so grim once the big games come out (FFXIII, MGS4, Anything from the guys that made ICO/Wanda and the Colossus, the new LEVEL 5 rpg, SOCOM 4, etc...)
 
Banking on exlusives that are upto a year away is an awful idea. You have to hope your product survives that long in the first place.

Actually was waiting to buy one, but i hadn't weighed the possibility that the hardware could flop, i'll take a wait and see attitude with this.

If you already have one and the system does flop, at least you can pray that the blu-ray doesn't become the next beta-max or laser disk

Well, the Wii is also banking on its first party games, mainly Metroid and SSB and Galaxies. As far as i know, one list of games coming out this summer for the wii looks very bleak.

While they are banking on those games as system movers, the Wii already has a solid line-up of games as is. Of course, the big system seller for launch was Zelda, and it went like hotcakes. Financially, Nintendo doesn't loose very much for every Wii produced, so their profits are so much higher than anything Sony or Microsoft can produce.

Not to bash Sony or Microsoft, how long did it take for Gears of War to come out for the 360 after launch? If anything is an indication, the last system war parrallels this one pretty tightly. There just aren't any games for these systems yet. In terms of advantage, the 360 has the biggest so far, considering it's been out for a little while.

In terms of Wii vs Ps3, while the Ps3 is a hardware giant, the Wii has shown us that gamers are looking for innovation and fun rather than pretty graphics and 1080p resolution.

I mean, I could've bought a PS3 about a month ago. In fact, I still have the funds to buy one now. Will I? No. It'll collect dust and I can't play Guitar Hero II on it. >_>;
 
All the hardware in the world doesn't matter if you lack software. Sony not being a developer for games is hurting them this time. Where as Nintendo has their First party teams, as well as Second Party teams like Retro. Microsoft dabbles in Xbox software, and owns a large chunk of second party developers. I say "Dabbles" because compared to their Second and Third party software releases, their First are dwarfed.

Sony relies heavily on third party, which is why they try to grab up as many exclusives as possible.

And Alyada, The 360 has had a lot of great games leading up to Gears. Gears was just a smash hit, which is why it's clamoured about so much. It sold a million units pretty swiftly.

Actually, Nintendo makes a profit off every console sold, so they'll be in the black significantly faster than Microsoft or Sony could every dream.

I've seen PS3's advertised in a few newspaper ads already(in a major US city no less), if they were really moving they wouldn't need to waste money on an advertisement.

That's what I meant to say, it was the first huge system mover for the 360.

True. I didn't mean to say that PS3's are sitting around creating dust on store shelves (just mine). They are moving, but there are a lot less of them than Wii's or 360's as well. Sony isn't going to waste time letting the PS3 sell itself. They've made a huge gamble with the power and cost of the PS3. It's just interesting to see how it plays out. So far, it's moving in their favor, but like I said before, there just isn't enough systems out there.

A few friends that decided to get PS3 instead of Wii or 360 (because everyone else had them) are pretty disappointed and sad they bought the PS3 at this point in time. The only up point on PS3 game wise is Resistance, which isn't anywhere comparable to Gears of War or the large variety of games on the Wii. lol$600.

I hear you can walk in a grab and PS3 but, still have to search everywhere for Wii's.
 
every store in my city has ps3's sittin on their shelves, and have had them for a long long time lol. I have yet to even see a wii in a store.
 
It was the news of town when the local sears got a shipment of Wiis. And they were gone fast
 
mocking the PS3 is the new "cool thing" to do for gamers :P and people are sheep, even people I know who bought a PS3 and enjoy it (at least resistance.. lol.. since honestly, no other good game for it right now) I've heard mock it. It's sad. Hell, it's not just the PS3 but sony in general, there are SO MANY here that mock sony even though they own a sony system of some sorts and have tons of games for it and play it often.

Edit: lol at the video's part with the guy and the interview, some of it was obviously editted like the endless "um..." which, iirc, was nowhere near like that with the actual little interview, speach, thingy. (I could be wrong but some of it also really sounds completely looped)

Eh, neither Wii or PS3 is worth it yet I say XD but both have potential I'd like to see being used but whatever, that's up to the developers.

Did it ever occur to you that there might be a reason? I mean, even if the people who own one are doing it, theres some actual backing for the mocks.
