PS3 is hurting!

And using physical movements as gameplay was completely original not at all a rip off from the eye toy. And Xbox rumble controller was thought up by Bill Gates himself.

I'd love to compare Wii's online service to this new Home system, but unfortunately, WII DOESN'T HAVE A FUCKING WIRED ETHERNET ADAPTOR. Maybe Sony should rip that off, so people who don't have/want wireless internet can know the joys of a next gen system without the internet.

So the savior of the PS3 is stealing ideas from Nintendo, Microsoft and MySpace?
The savior of Nintendo is a $2 sensor bar, your point?

Nobody bought an Xbox because the controller shook, and if you're going to compare the EyeToy to the Wii remote why don't we take it all the way back to the U-Force or Activator because that's just as dumb of an argument.

But then again Second Life is a great place to find all kinds of furry porn and other deviant shit so I'm sure there will be plenty of public BDSM fursuit watersport videos in rooms to look around in 24/7 with every Sonic achievement unlocked, that's a big plus

Cheaper than shelling out money for superior hardware! Who would have thought though, sell your consoles at a profit by cutting out useless things like ethernet jacks. That's not enough though, make sure the most popular adaptors, like Linksys... don't work! Then wait a few months and sell your own brand since you designed your system not to be compatible with generics.

So how would I know if playstation is ripping them off, I can't even get online to pay 5 dollars for a regular nintendo game in the form of a software download!

And nobody is going to buy PS3 for the virtual environment alone, they're going to buy it to play games on. Face it, if you're looking for originality, I recommend the science fiction section of your local bookstore. This is gaming, everyone rips everyone off. Every FPS "ripped off" doom, who cares? What matters to me, the consumer, is who can deliver.

If you don't have a wireless access point, your home network is full of fail. I still have a normal wired ethernet adaptor for my PC, but still have a wireless router. Way before I got my DS. Why? Because they're not that much more than normal wired routers.

If the point of a console is to play games, why is the focus of the keynote GDC speech Playstation Home? I mean, aside from cutting costs by removing the Emotion Engine from NA and JP PS3s without a consumer price drop.

No, it's the wiimote, the sensor bar can be replaced with 2 candles. Tag already covered that, why is it so hard to remember?

My dorm doesn't even allow wireless routers. My wireless router at home is encrypted for corporate security reasons.

You mean Home or you mean the entire update of the PS3's OS to version 2.0, the European launch, the huge release of games and the addition of video conferencing?

Just get a wireless ethernet card and share the connection? Oh wow a $20 inconvenience. You could even get one of the Nintendo sold USB ones.

I can't use wireless. My home internet signal comes out of the modem and goes into an encrypted wireless router. My laptop needed special software installed on it to be able to pick it up. My dad works for AT&T and they are crazy about security. Luckily I can log online with my PS3 through the amazing ability to plug in a fucking wire.

Not everyone NEEDS wireless you know. My laptop stays on my desk and never moves. If I didn't have wireless for it, I'd just... you know, plug it in? Actually, come to think of it, I always do plug in it. It's faster.

In my dorm, University of CT policy says... no wireless routers. Even if I could, I'm not going to buy a damn router just to play Wii online, when I'm not stupid enough to pay 5-10 bucks for games I downloaded for free over 5 years ago, played and deleted... or to play all those amazing online Wii games.... oh wait... there are none!

To top it all off, even if I did have wireless, and they release Smash Bros and it has online... I'd want a wire to have the lowest latency possible.

You do know there's a wired USB adapter on NewEgg for under $15 last I checked that works fine with the Wii, right?

Then why does the setup ask you if you placed it above or below your TV?
Because it wants to know where to register the light inputs for your wiimote to accurately register the cursor on the screen. The cause of the light source is largely irrelevant, hence why you can replace the sensor bar with candles. Unless you're playing an FPS, you don't use the light sensor after you select the game. The real tech is in the wiimote with the motion controls.

Also, if we're going to discuss useless addons, how about that $15 memory card adapter you use once and have no need for ever again?

If you're trying to say Sony was any kind of innovator here, you might want to check into why they lost a 91 billion dollar law suit recently.

Let's take a look at some things Sony has been called out on recently. Ripping off Immersion Corp. with their rumble tech, Creating an innovative new way of control with the SIXAXIS, announcing it only months after Nintendo showed the Wiimote (lawl, I peed my pants a bit laughing at the time), and now, HOLD THE PHONE MAH, putting in a system that is exactly Xbox Live combined with what Nintendo's Mii's system will be like in June but has been showed off already. It's been no question that Sony is the industry copycat, even the fanbois can agree there (God knows there is enough proof), but it's getting out of hand now, haha.

Anyway, about Home, it wont help the PS3 out. It still cost $600 and does the same thing as something that cost $400 or less. Actually, you could get a Xbox and a Wii, both the systems online system being replicated, and come out better off. At least then you could have some games to play and the versitility is better too.

Anyway, MLB 2k7 = the best baseball game since Ken Griffey Jr.'s Baseball (the first one) on SNES. You should pick it up Fire. The pitching system is badass but multiplayer is kind of ehhh, too many homeruns and not enough basehit and small ball playing.

Didn't know about it, heard there was a $25 one off some message board that worked. I'd considering buying one of those $15 ones when there's a reason to actually go online.

Also, PS: I've got a screen of FF12 on the European PS3.

I don't know what you guys think but to me it looks upscaled.

FF13 better look better than that. Anyway, the Europeans do not have PS3's yet (or do they?) much less FF13 so what gives?

<sonypr>European gamers prefer waiting longer and paying more for consoles with lower compatibility. It's a feature they've wanted for years.</sonypr>
