PS3 Owners

Basicly, its because while Resistance is awsome, it still lacks a really good exclusive game to force people off the fence and buy it. I know 3 different people just from my friends group that'll get one when either MGS4 comes out, or a similarly spectacular game.
600$USD is still alot to shell out for only one good exclusive game.

But no, there's no technical problem with them anymore.
The only thing they had was that glitch where 200 some odd PS1/PS2 games wouldn't work, but that got patched already.

I also remember hearing how a large number(like 20%) of PS3's had some small glitch where they were incapable of running past 480p; but I'm assuming that got patched if it wasn't a hardware failure.

The point being that there were so many problems reported with PS3's, I'd be stunned if they have all been fixed by now(Not even Nintendo is that good, and their customer service is fucktons better than sony), or if no others will pop up soon.

You're joking right? Did you not hear about the PS3 that bursted into flames? Or the 50% of systems that died from a patch that Sony released? lol We are still in first release here people, you have much more to see in terms of systems fucking up.
i guess the age of patch updates needs fine tuning because the same thing happened with 360's fall update this past year, But the number of bricked systems was pretty small compared to 50%, i think it was like maybe 200 people and most of them had hacked firmware systems, which they still filed a lawsuit for since its not in M$ power to take that kind of action into their own hands if thats what they did, but they wont admit it lol

Must have patched the graphics thing because mine isn't doing that with any of my games.

And that was the 360 which caught fire. They also still eat discs occasionally when stood sideways.

P.S. this posted from my PS3

still looking for more people to play resistance with

I got resistance: fall of man today, still waiting for my ps3 to come in the mail. Hopefully will arrive tomorrow or the day after.

As far as people coming onto this PS3 thread to suck Nintendo dick... please. The flagship game looks to me like a Nintendo 64 with that shitty camera that PS2 already had like 2 years ago and I didn't want.

Which game, exactly? Because I'm not aware of any Wii games that look like N64 games... unless your eyesight sucks.

Yeah.. a lot of ppl wait for a certain game to come out before they decide on buying a system. I am one of those kinds of people. But.. while people may wait on MGS4... Think about how many people are waiting for Super Smash Bros. Brawl to come out on the Wii. That's practically gonna be a 'second launch' for the Wii.. because smash has a big fan base and a ton of ppl would just get a Wii for Smash Bros. Same thing applies to the Halo fanatics -. - *sighs*

I dunno what it was called. I was watching some tennis game at Target today and it looked like a bunch of spheres jointed to cubes. I wasn't impressed.

Oh yeah, I've got a little PS3 problem already before it's even arrived.

I intend to move from PS2 to PS3, but I'm not so sure if I have the original... zilart, CoP and aht urghan... I only need 1 to run the game, and I kind of lose track of the older discs when I stop using them.

I checked blockbuster.com, gamefly, ext... anyone know where rentals exist? I don't really wanna buy the damn game just for the install when I already have an account.

I would imagine that you can't rent the expansion CD's, since most stores won't even let you return opened MMO games because of the account information inside.

You mean Wii Sports, the *tech demo* they effectively threw together for a pack-in?

That's like complaining that Lumines shows how bad PSP is at 3D graphics... or that the Metroid demo packed in with the old DS was too short. =p

It still looks about two and a half million times cleaner than any N64 game I ever saw, though...

Those where very high poly count spheres and cubes!

Actually spheres require an extremely huge poly count to look smooth. =)

Yup! Cloud from FF7 was suppose to be a big, yellow sphere but they didn't have that kind of technology back then.

Actually, Fire, from what I've heard, you can't play XI on the PS3. At least not yet, anyway. I don't remember exactly why, but I think it was something to do with the game not recognizing the PS3 hdd. I'll try to find the article on the pol site.

There was a patch to let you play FFXI on PS3 a few weeks ago; it was mentioned in a few threads in general discussion.

Oh, ok. Never mind, then. I haven't seen anything about it on POL. Now I have another reason to get my PS3 online.
