which of the two new handhelds (excluding N-gage cause it sucks) are you more interested?
for me: both. PSP is stilla long time from now and DS is comin next month. Im going to buy DS then re-sell it one PSP comes out. I think DS looks cooler, but PSP has a better game library. FFIII is going to be released for DS only, so thats another to go DS, but FFVII-2 will be PSP only. I like both right now and I will probably end up getting both anyway.
who do you guy think will win the new hand held war? Im personally roting for PSP because it will most likely be more popular.

FFVII-2???

there is no such thing . . . There's FFVII Advent Children which is a short animated feature which will be released on DVD and as part of the PSP launch on their bitty movie disk . . . then there's Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII which will be a PS2 exclusive.

If you're buying the PSP in hopes of another FFVII RPG don't hold your breath.

Me? I'm going DS, the PSP is going to be damned expensive, and from the initial reports its battery life makes the GameGear's look brilliantly economic.

Oy that's scary...I have a Game Gear and that thing can go through 6 batteries in under an hour.

I"m going DS...PSP is just going to end up putting out ports of PS1 and PS2 games, games which I allready have. DS on the other hand will be innovative, cheap and damn sexy. Oh yeah and it won't go through 12 batteries every 1/2 hour.

yes I know. FFVII Advent Children is the SEQUEL to FFVII, it is a movie, but its still FFVII-2.

And in a real DVD Format...

I mean who the hell is going to completel re-buy their dvd collections to watch them on a PSP?

Why don't you just buy FFVII Advent children for your DVD player to play? I think most of the games will end up being ports. Besides, sony (great games) puts out such shoddy hardware, I can't imagine these things lasting long...

true. But being able to play a game in your PS2 then playing the same game in the PSP in the same save file is awesome.
Imagine playing FFXII at home, taking PSP to school and playing it during long boring lectures!

And buying 2 damn copies of the same game...playing games that are ment to played on 20"+ screens on a 3" screen....

No, it's not FFVII-2. You can refer to it as you like, but that is not what it is called, nor has it been dubbed that by anyone other than yourself.

It's a CG animated movie (this you probably already know) and last I heard the running time was roughly an hour, I could be wrong on that.

But what I'm trying to stress is this is not a sequal in any form. You can't considered it one because they are two different media types; video game and movie/film. You don't see something in one media carry over to another in the form of a sequal. For example the Terminator movies are film, we have many Terminator video games out, none of them are sequals. Do some expand on the events in the movies? Yes. Does that make them sequals? No.

What this film (FFVII:AC) does is expand on the events that occured in the video game's story, I dont remember exactly but I believe the timespan is something of 1 year after the events at the end of Final Fantasy VII.

Simply put this is NOT FFVII-2, it IS FFVII:AC.

Sorry to go off on a flame about something so seemingly little, but Im not sure.. something just sparked a flame in me. I hate people calling something what its not, and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is not a sequal to the video game Final Fantasy VII.

okkk fine ecks lo, you win^^ but thats not the point at all of this thread. this about PSP and DS and which one you think has better stuff or will live longer

Tyrion, one day I will find out where you live and throw you in a vat of hot wax. ^^

Chpal, I know what the thread was about, just sometimes little things can set me off, as noted.

I'm probably going to end up owning both, but I'm more eager for the DS and already have mine reserved. It's coming out the week of my birthday, so it's my gift to myself. I've been devoted to Nintendo's handhelds ever since I first played "Tetris" on the great white brick that was the original Game Boy.

DS looks say cooler. Nintendo is the heart and soul of gaming, cause they make fun titles that everyone can enjoy and also come up with new and exciting stuff that is'nt just new graphics engines for shooter. BUt i'ma DE (Digital Entertatinment) junkie but PSP will prolly be over priced and not worth it.
