Realm in FF6 had Sketch which is kinda simelar? other than that, I think just Lulu with her puppets

that's what I've been saying for a long time <.<; and that's why I think the puppet is a weapon, and not really a "pet"
 
I can see myself giving this a try. I personally think it looks pretty cool. I hope your puppet/weapon is always walking around with you, or you carry it in some way.
 
Lulu wasnt a puppet master...She was a blm whose weapon was a puppet :|

when i saw this, i was like 'DAMN! good eyes!' BUT, they do have weapons. the taru has a pair of H2H equiped.
 
maybe it works like a BRDs instrument?
 
Its hard to determine yet how the puppet master will play an integral role.
I guess with time we will have to see.
Depending on job roles and abilities people may or may not take interest in it.

But I'm sure there will be takers.

I know with Corsair, some people are skeptic at a job that can uber aid or uber screw the PT. But then again, some people are psyched and all for it because you are playing as a pirate with guns. Pretty much a pirate/gambler/long ranged melee/mage but with a twist.

I'm still gonna go BLU after reading up on the fact that its very customizable.
Its like customizing a fleshy magical mech. ^_^;

But as for the puppet job, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I wonder if more jobs are in store soon.
 
Well, translation said Puppet Master was the third and final job, so not likely.
 
Yea, seeing how they said this was the final job at the fan festival, I would say that there wont be anymore jobs coming out.

Hmmm you guys hear anything about a new 4th job or is that it? Seeing how there were 4 new npcs in each nation including Jeuno, representing the Aht Uhrgan Empire.
 
Idk about you guys but the puppetmaster seems to give me the impression that it could be like the Warlocks in WoW.

Not that their's anything bad about that. But the way the warlocks work is that at different lvls they get different kinds of demons "puppets".

I personally would like to see that kind of variation in the pup. Think of having different puppets depending on what your pt wants/needs. You could have one that you use for dd and another that could be used for tanking ect, ect..... That would be interesting in my opinion.

Also i'm a tad worried that crs is going to be too much like rng. I mean i don't want to hafta equip the pistols into my rnged wep slot. I want it to be the main weapon. If it worked like that all i hafta say is Rng/Nin boyos ftw

Which video? If you're talking about the new trailer one that shows like 3 sec of the /sit emote, that can just as well be part of their AF armour (looking at the other images it looks kind of like that). Although its to fuzzy to really make ANYTHING out in that video, heh <.<;
 
probably already been said... but i wanna be a puppet master!... I will be a master of puppets! >_>;; metallica fans weep for joy/laughter... and the throwing axes rocks too... i can't find anything crappy about this expansion realy yet... except i heard that Blue mages will learn there abilities through scrolls, and i can think a few ways that would work well but most seem stupid... sorry for useless post

Nope, no scrolls:
acquistion - only new spells if blue mage is main job
- to obtain new spell have to defeat monster that using that spell
- only able to learn spell only if within a certain level from the monster
- only learn spells from monsters that give xp
- no learning spell if dead
- can't learn every ability from monsters, but will have an inital amount with updates opening up more abilities
 
I say GAMB/PUP is what Cait Sith basically was with his limit breaks and the fact that his entire body was a puppet. Despite the materia specialization of jobs.
 
In the other Fan Festival post, it said in the video it looked like the puppet was copying the target of the master. So it may be a mimic afterall.

yeah, read that. Also said that the puppet master was using "Combo", so there goes my theory about it being a weapon. Oh well.

I still <3 the fact that it seem to be mimicing the moves of the master/target (said it seemed to be copying the move of the target there... but that seems a bit overpowered).

If it DOES mimic the move of the target, that can become a bit overpowered... don't you think? Seriously, Blue Mage and Puppet Master seem to be excelent Ballista jobs. Black Mage casts Thundaga III, and the puppet returns it.

Blue Mage goes in, use 1000 needles, then AoE drain HP back from the surrounding targets... <.<; End that with Bomb Toss ftw XD

Well, we'll just have to wait and see. Now the hard question is what job to be. Puppetmaster, Corsair or Blue Mage <.<; They all seem so awesome.
