Puter problem

I've got this problem with one of my comps at work.

I try to log into yahoo mail and it says no. "Cannot display Page"
I can log into qcdn just fine from there. I can't figure out what setting it is that would keep me from logging into secure sites.

Maybe it's a setting on the giant router that that computer is hooked up to, I'm not sure. But the router itself is hooked upt to 57 rooms in the hotel and also a small wireless network for the first floor.

What the hell? Anyone have any suggestions?

Administrator could be fed up with the freaking toolbars and blocked it.

Is it error 404 or something else?

If you are behind a proxy that is blocking it, find a "behind proxy" website. I'm at work so can't search for one myself, but they will stream you a cached version of a site that your proxy is denying you access to.

Couldn't his work have also blocked people from accessing yahoo and hotmail etc, at work?

Depends on if he is getting an actual "policy deny" error or not.

Do a nslookup of yahoo.com and try to traceroute to it, see if you even get there. If it only goes like 1 or 2 hops then its more than likely the proxy blocking it.
