Square Enix mentioned solo content. Maybe these new jobs (as powerful as they are) ARE the solo content. You level them for a while as normal, but eventually they become strong enough to use on their own.

Then this brings up the fact that people said the new areas possesed some pretty tough shit.

Well, strong jobs + strong mobs = [Solo content]

Level your new jobs up to the point where you feel you can solo real fine and then take it out to these new areas.

Just a thought. But if you think about this, you have your strong job to contend with strong monsters.

Its obvious these jobs are going to be so powerful later on.

smart cat heres a cookie
*parts a cookie on a dogs collar* now get it

Because we didn't have a solo job before...One capable of raping IT mobs in the right settings.

But now it seems we do. Or at least once its at the proper level.

The missions are solo so far so you know :|

We had one before as well. You missed my sarcasm.

The mobs outside of Al Zhabi are solo content. They're extremely weak and easy to defeat. What the hell were you expecting, SE to make soloable T's and VT's? Don't ignore EP and DC just because they yield less exp, 2.5k/hr solo is pretty great.

At what level are these counted as solo content?

They're unbelievably easy kills in the 70s.

Ive started soloing there at 60 on nin.

I didn't want to go that far but yeah, yesterday I saw a taru NIN in the 60s soloing with no problems.

But anyone who expects a lot of solo content in FFXI is delusional, especially since SE's reaction to BSTs after the MPK update was to basically say that they have never - and will never - design classes centered around soloing their levels. (Granted, BSTs continue to solo, but they're probably the only people content to spend most of the possible 75 levels killing Toughs and the odd IT when they can.) People looking for an easy ride to the top should give it up and go to WoW.

They already reduced the amount of XP you need to get to 75. They gave us XP rings to make it seem like it's going even faster and make mediocre parties a little more bearable for a while. They introduced enough ENMs/escorts where with the right amount of organization you can get upwards of 12k XP a week with a few simple fights if you know where to go and have the right levels (which start as low as 30). They've given you another support job with BRD and RDM abilities. What more could you possibly want?

Seconded.

Neyla, don't forget that Sanction gives an experience boost(about 5%,) stacks with Empress Ring, and Corsair's Roll. Ofcourse, it goes bye-bye when one of the Beastmen armies hold the Astral Candescence. Which is why I want to see lots of people defending Al Zhabi.

If you still think that these unbelievably weak EP/DC's aren't the solo content, go back to Jeuno.

Eh? I never said they weren't the solo content. I'm perfectly fine with things as they are and I've been soloing on my RDM quite fine. With a few more levels the BST won't have any problems either. If anything I spouted off early on the notion that they've only just now added jobs capable of doing well for themselves on their own, in solo situations. I don't foresee any of the new jobs being better than a BST or a NIN in those regards. Or even THF, RDM or BLM. BST was the job I mentioned before about soloing IT and VT mobs with relative ease. They tend to gravitate towards toughs because it's an easier fight and chain, but with a good supply of pets they can rip through IT and VT like they're nothing. That's where I was coming from.

I'm almost never in merit parties, so some of my merits have come from my goofing around with EP, DC and EM mobs wherever I can find them. Having so many in the new areas is fine by me, especially when so many of them don't seem that vicious.

Anyway, why would I go back to Jeuno when my homepoint never leaves Windurst?
