Was just wondering what happened with the topic where we had several graphic artists post their QCDN banners for the forum? Is there any plan to have one of the banners put up?

Take a number. The mods will respond in a brisk 4-6 years. We appreciate your business, and as always, customer satisfaction is our TOP priority.

Lmao, I know.. I know... ._.

The mods have nothing to do with it. That's a project for the administrators, so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Yep, I know its something that can only be accessed by the administrators, but i'd figure maybe once in a blue moon they might have a look in this forum if they're going to check any at all.

I'm sorry, thats what I meant. Myyy bad.

Mods can't create a sticky topic for this? The version of vbulletin I'm using (3.6.7) allows for uploads as attachments. Does 3.6.4 not have these capabilities? I thought there was an area to upload your own images onto this. Or you could always go with photobucket.

Doesn't seem like it'd take that much work to make a sticky for a "Submit your banner" topic.

Or is Zerayla just talking about having a qcdn banner put on qcdn? Which I'm wondering what would even be the point of that? You mean having a logo added to the template? Forgive me if I'm mistaken.

the issue they are having is SETTING UP the banner. submitting isnt that huge of a problem since we had a thread with submissions already.

they are talking nox's permissions and ability to set it up.

Ah, I see. Yep, looks like you'll be waiting a while.

Just curious. Where would it even go? Are you guys going to get rid of the google ads? Or would it only appear on the most recent skin? I don't see any space on the old skin (which I use).

Adding an image to a vbulletin template is a five minute job though and if Nox has access to the admin panel he SHOULD have access to the templates. Maybe all of you mods should call Reeve at 3 in the morning one after the other until he decides he'll get on it the next day...

Buuuuuut, I'm just talking. I have no idea what you guys have going on under the hood here. Sorry, I'll leave.

There had been a contest a few months back, where graphic artists submitted a "QCDN Banner" that was apparently going to be uploaded to one of the templates. As to the point of having it, it would just make the forum look a little more personalized/appealing.

The reason that I asked isn't because I necessarily "need" to have a banner on the template, but rather because it bothers me that we had so many talented artists spend time and effort to create their designs for the purpose of having them uploaded, and after submitting their work and a bit of discussion of possibly having the banners rotated... the topic went dead. I feel bad for the people that invested time into something.. it seems like it was a wasted effort and I'm hoping that one of the admins will follow through with their idea of having a QCDN banner.

No, no, I completely understand :) If you hold a contest like this, the artwork that was created should positively be displayed. :)

I just didn't quite understand. My bad.

No worries, i'm not always the best at wording things ._.

I'm not really sure where it would go either. I think ideally it would be banner at the top, with the forum path links (currently shown as "FFXI Final Fantasy XI Quetzalcoatl Daily News > Board Issues > QCDN Support & Feedback") immediately below the banner.

PM stuff could be on the side or below. Sabia's banners are uberpimp and she had 4 so a rotation upon refresh would be the most slick.

To my knowledge, Nox doesn't have access to anything administrative anymore.

Might look dumb as hell, but there's some space to the right of "QCDN Support & Feedback QCDN related problems and suggestions go here"

But yeah, I agree, top left would probably be most fitting as it's generally the most appropriate spot for branding.

Yeah that's kinda what I see it as... on a corporate site the logo is usually closest to the top-left since it's the first place your cattl... er customers' eyes generally go.

Shit, you know... I had access to some restricted section of the admin cp a while ago when I was testing forum layouts and colour schemes. I'll have to see if I can dig up my credentials, maybe I can copy the template for qcdn2007. I might be PMing you or Crappa for advice in editing the code, if I so happen to actually find what I'm looking for.

Jackass on the prowl. QCDN beware! Server's going down any minute now I'm sure of it.

If you need help with the templates, I wouldn't mind at all. I really haven't figured out vbulletin's weird php variables yet, but adjusting the templates hasn't been overly difficult for me on my board yet. Though I'm still pretty new to the vbulletin admin tools.

I must have deleted the PM that had my /admincp credentials. No forum-breaking for me today.
