These are the max dimensions and file sizes for the different categories.
The gallery accepts JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP uploads. I will add TIF to the Wallpaper section one of these days.

Premium members have the ability to create categories within the Premium Member`s Categories area. Those categories can either be given a custom name, or they will default to the name of the member who uploads the image.

Please send me a PM should the file dimensions or file sizes not be sufficient for some areas of the gallery.

You might want to make them convert bmp to something smaller like jpg. Bmp is a waste of bandwidth.

What about PDF format?

Said format succeds because the files can travel across organizational boundaries and from device to device without losing visual appearance, data, internal logic, or security. PDF documents look exactly the same visually as they do in print, locking in all the original fonts, graphical elements, and layout formatting.

I've made 10 page magazines 8.5x11 300dpi that when converted do not exceed 2megs.

The reason I currently still have BMP enabled is that I didn't figure out how to add TIFF just yet, and I wanted to keep an option to allow people to upload 100% lossless imagery for printing/wallpaper/whatever purposes.

I guess PNG can be lossless ..., will look into that.

The problem with PDF is that I don't think that GD can generate a preview for it, resulting in a black image whenever a preview is shown.

I will be happy to host PDFs as well, though we would need to come up with a different way to do it. One thing that could work would be as an attachement to a post, or I could just put it up at a download location and allow for regular HTTP download.
