The old QCDN, before the server move, used to have a more or less often used gallery.

There are several free and commercial options to integrate a gallery into vBulletin. Some are fancier than others, all work in the end.

Should I bring the gallery back?

It would be nice to have a gallery area, but possibly have it as a viewing area, hosting done maybe by the poster (Photobucket ect ect) to reduce bandwidth costs?

If you wanna snag a free one, it can't hurt.
