QCDN HTML code and Embedding

I think it would be nice if we can embed videos not only from Youtube, but from all online video tubes. Before stage6 went down, we at another form, use to enjoy high definition video feeds being embedded into that other form i go to.

I'm curious as to why the HTML code is off ? I know if it was on we'd be able to embed a lot more than just Youtube.

Youtube is nice, but there are other sites that offer higher quality video.
 
Think it has something to do with exploiting or stuff like that.
I don't specifically know. It's all machine code to me.
 
The more html you allow, the more at risk the forums are for abuse. It'd also allow people to destroy the forum layout in their sigs etc.

It would be possible if you only allow certain codes, while not allowing others, such as <table>, javascript, css, php etc. in order to remove abuse. However, it is still possible to abuse it and possibly put the forum-readers in danger of, say, viruses.
 
Forum abuse pretty much. I can look into adding tags for other video places though.
 
why isn't HTML allowed?

iframes. javascript applets. I'm sure I could think of more, those two just leap out at me though.

You silly gurl, no one uses internet explorer. (Even I switched not too long ago).

This other site i attend, has it shut off, but has the option to turn it on when we make posts. So far no casualties reported.

That's pretty much what this is about. Not that there are really anymore more Stage6 hosts, but QCDN really missed out on this amazing DivX site. Stage6 went down with no reason and only gave it's users 3 days notice, which goes to show, they were so damn good, they got paid to stop tubing video with their superior encoding. Now things seem to be looking bright for Vimeo when it comes to high definition video. Still not as nice as DivX.

I just think if we can have various video embedding in qcdn that would make for a major enhancement to the site. Youtube is satisfactory for the magnitude of content it has to offer, but realistically the quality of video from it is too weak.
