This has happened to me twice in the past two days. When I come to QCDN, and I have no other sites tabbed or any other things going on, Firefox just crashes on me. Why is this happening?

Quick question.

Are you going backwards or forwards in the browser in quick succession?

I know that's been happening to me recently when visiting any website. If I hit back or forward fast firefox will just crash, and I'll have to reopen the browser.

?

I use firefox and havent had any problems. I think several months ago though, I was having this problem.

I installed the newest version of Firefox and I haven't had any problems since.

That could be whats wrong here.

Oh I know that's what's wrong lol, I just don't feel like upgrading because I don't think my SC calculator will work with the newest version (unless they've made recent advances, which I haven't checked on).

I was just asking if that was Swishiee's problem, so I could suggest he gets the newest version.

Lecan- Yes, the new SC calculator has been updated and will update when you reinstall (it told me to update)

As for your problem, I can only suggest either- Reverting to origional themes and extensions etc. etc, or Uninstalling FF and reinstalling.

Basically because Firefox is a hacked up web client.
I am using 1.0.7 at work to check work web browser compatibility, and don't have any issues with QCDN, though I don't use it to extensivly browse. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

with a recent issue i had, qcdn was also making firefox crash.
but not just qcdn, it was making my entire PC crash if i went to certain websites as well.
the solution was solved by three things
one make sure none of your plug ins and extensions are conflicting with scripts used on qcdn, this can easily cause the problem.
2, if you are using something like Mcafee active shield or anything of the sort, having it scan all files instead of just documents and programs can cause it to malfunction.

the third step, and one that solved my simalar problem was to boot up your pc from the windows disc and do a repair install of windows.

some other options can be to check your graphics card to see if it could use an upgrade to the driver sets, cause it could be a graphics problem too.
these are just a few things i learned about small problems like that.

QCDN has crashed my firefox browser 18 times tonight..

Get a real browser, none of this hacked up stuff.
I swear, open source will one day bring us all down ...

In the meantime, let me see what I can find out, doesn't seem like many people have this issue, perhaps a specific plug is to blame?

I don't have any plugs on this comp and its the only one that does it =(

Thats weird, ive been using Firefox for almost a year now and it crashed only once back like 3 months ago, i usually keep 3-5 tabs open too...oO??

Oh no you dint!

I, for one, am very happy to see a browser that - egads! - conforms to W3C guidelines rather than contrasts them. IE started a bad trend of customized language interpretations that will ultimately be the downfall of mankind, once computers become self-aware.

Firefox isn't perfect, I still have the issue where it balloons to 150mb+ process usage if left on overnight, but you'll see blizzagaV in a brimstone-laden land before I go back to IE.

:2cents:. I haven't tried other browsers, so if you're referring to something other than the 2 I've mentioned in this post, feel free to uphand my backside of the... uhhh. No, no I'm not going to delete that sentence. That'll show them foo's!
