It's a strong 50-70% chance everytime i go to qcdn i get thrown to some stupid "Quick" search engine. I was wondering if anyone had the same problem and anyway i can fix/prevent this.
Thanks.

If you don't manually type in qcdn.org it gives brings you to qcdn.com. The .com one brings you to a crappy search engine. That could be the problem?

Sounds like you have some sorta malicious affecting your browser. Might wanna run a virus/spyware scan on your computer.

Oh i thought you ment while trying to type in the URL. I think you are just sorta skunked there.

You're not being very clear. We're not mind-readers. Clarify, please.

You say "90% of the time" when you "go to" QCDN, you get thrown to the search engine. The way this is worded would lead most people to believe that it happens when you're coming to QCDN to begin with. Then, you say it happens when you're "clicking links." Almost nobody who comes here regularly would proceed to QCDN via link ... we'd type in the URL manually, or bookmark it. In other words, the statements seem to contradict each other, and you're confusing the shit out of most of us. You know what you mean, I know, but that doesn't mean we're going to be able to pluck the same meaning from your head by way of a vague description of the problem.

You need to be specific. Do you mean:

1) Your browser ends up at the search engine INSTEAD when you're trying to come to QCDN initially?

2) Your browser for some reason flips over to the search engine once you're already here?

3) You click on a link in a QCDN thread, which then takes you to the search engine?

4) You click on a link that's supposed to lead you to QCDN, and it takes you to the search engine instead?

5) Something else altogether?

Nobody knows what the Hell you're trying to say, unless you're a little more detailed. There could be a thousand things going on, here ... we just need a bit more information.

Those are the things that happen. It's been like this for a good while now. It's also just this particular site as well, I could go to another site and it be just fine. This gets fairly annoying (even now trying to submit this is tosses me to that god damn search engine), also my apologizes for being fairly unclear~

It's alright. That's more than enough information, now, to determine you've got some pretty malicious spy/adware.

That is to say, there's some software on your computer that was installed using deceptive means (something else you downloaded came packaged with it, or some site exploited a weakness in your browser and force-installed it), that automatically pulls you to these sites. It has nothing to do with QCDN itself ... rather, the crud on your own computer is screwing with you.

First thing's first:

1) Download and run this. It's free, well-known to be reputable, and should clear up most problems of this nature. You might want to set it to run automatically once a week, as you would antivirus software.

2) If you're using Internet Explorer, you might want to consider switching to Firefox. Contrary to nerd popular belief, it isn't made more safe exclusively through the magic of more secure and righteous coding at the hands of people that aren't the evil Microsoft ... but also because it is less used by the general public, and those that wish to infect you would want to increase their chances by focusing more on the numerous weaknesses in IE.

Adware...

They built it to remove competitor's Adware and silently install thier own.

Again just FYI

A bit off-topic, but I found it interesting that someone gave me negative karma in this thread for attempting to help ForteTeppo ... particularly the post in which I probed for more information, so we could better determine the exact nature of the problem. Perhaps whoever did it didn't like the blunt way in which I tried to get the specifics out and in the clear, but still ... what the Hell? o_O

Did Lavasoft's software fix it, Forte?

I dl'd both (tho i already had Lava and didnt know it{It's on shortcut on desktop now]) and it seems Firefox "cannot connect" so i'm fairly sure i'm doing something wrong. As for Lava it's scanning as I currently type this post and have also used "SpyKiller" and wondering if it's any shape or manner good, because it's been what ive been using for the past few months.

That's all I can say for now, and tha freakin search engine still comes up sometimes. ( /,\) GOD I WANT A NEW COMPUTER! Later yaw :3

My experience with Firefox & spy/adware, take what you need:

A friend of mine had the same problem with Firefox not connecting. It ended up being a conflict between it and Norton firewall. Firefox was allowed on the firewall but yet it still wouldn't be able to get through.
So it could be if you have a firewall there may be a conflict there, just a thought.

QFT. I also believe this, but not only with an internet browser. I got rid of my Norton firewall and antivirus, everything Norton really because I was still getting popups from maliciously installed software that got through the firewall somehow. I found out later that I had also gotten several viruses that Norton never detected. I looked around and ended up getting Kaspersky antivirus, Sygate firewall (yeah I know they got bought by Symantec), and Ewido spy/adware remover (all aquirable from torrents or legitimately purchased from their respective websites). I also have Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D. Ewido and Spybot always come back with more resluts than Ad-Aware. Although, since installing the firewall and AV, it's never more than a bunch of cookies really. A good firewall will dramatically improve you systems resistance to mal/spy/adware.

<edit> added links.
It took me about a day to cleanse my system of Norton, install and configure the new programs and irradicate the badness.
