Well, we're also haunted by our past, so to speak. With the Sculli fiasco in the rear view mirror, the mods/admins are in no position to make any huge moves towards "Cleaning" the place up, if you feel it's necesarry, because we're generally in agreement that we don't want carebearland back again.

Personally, I think the site is more entertaining than ever, but that's just me. I think there's a lot of funny shit being posted, and I like to laugh.. so.. /shrug. To each his own.

Everything since has been spotty at best and riddled with favoritism and the ever present political BS that comes with being a game playing moderator of a forum. Not worth naming names just to talk bullshit, that's how it's been. Ever since sculli sprung the hippy movement on this place you/we've been chasing our tails like it's not a very simple thing to figure out.

The only hard thing about the job is suffering the sea of retards the position requires you to sift through based on reported threads just to make sure there was a violation and what the context was. Unfortunately the most you get around here lately is a look at who reports what about whom and either a roll of the eyes or a cock-slap for a friend or personal reasons. It's pathetic to even call it moderation. Call me on it if you like but anybody could pick you out about 5-10 recently active threads that are allowed to continue in clear violations simply due to mod neglect, favoritism, or simply due to expectation (i.e. Well it is "name" responding to "name" afterall, fuck it. I'm not picking sides between those two, they just don't get along) The fuck is that BS?

Maybe if all of us paid to use Qcdn we can bitch about how the Mods run it but it's a free service that we use. The mods gain nothing from being here. They take time out of their day to mod the site(some more than others).

Mod consistancy is an issue, but being a big crybaby about it isn't going to change things. I think RoM is taking the "customer is always right" way of arguement and bitching about things until he gets his way, Sharpe.

Unfortunately, the mods aren't selling shit so it's kind of moot.

The problem is the mods constantly complain about being asked to do their job, but when they are asked to step down for someone else who can, suddenly they can't do that either. Either do the job as it was meant to be done, fairly and equally, or get someone who can. Being paid or not being paid has absolutely nothing to do with what is right. The majority of mod staff just wants the power of being a mod without the obligation of doing the job and Reeve is eager to give it to them. It's not as if there isn't sufficient membership to find atleast one or more members with the aptitude and time available to do a decent job, it's that the current staff is unwilling to relinquish the power and Reeve doesn't care enough either.

I also particularly love when a Mod clearly breaks the rules(I'm not talking about a minor infraction either), something any other member would get a read-only access to possibly a perma-ban while a moderator gets a hug. That's justice for you.

At least the mods aren't shoving crap down people's throats all the time. Worry about yourself; just expect that if you break the rules, you are in position to get penalized. People are quicker to point out other people's mistakes. Just keep yourself in check, and you don't gotta worry bout nothin.

When Shintroy decided to screw around with this site (as in attempt to hack it), Alyada chose to make a post, post his IP and tell everyone with the ability and knowledge to hack him in retaliation. Now, it's true his IP is readily available; however, that is not the issue. My email address is too, but for someone to post it telling everyone to email is a violation of the forum policy and privacy. But that's not all, he asked that people commit felonious acts on the behalf of QCDN while acting as a moderator. After people brought it to his attention and several pages later, he finally realized it was improper and removed the OP. He also said he would step down as moderator. Guess who is still a moderator to this day? The very same guy who always complains when people ask him to do something as a moderator and never has the time to do it, but never seems to want to give up those powers either. Don't get me wrong, I don't think poorly of all the moderating staff, just a select few who take the power and members for granted.

See, this is why I like Elei as a mod so much. He clearly states how it is, and how it will be. There are no grey areas!

Well no, it wasn't their choosing...it was more the fact that some of the members on this site choose to believe that they indeed do run this site, and have the power to continue to tell the mods how to run it.

I, for one, don't really even know what this board exists for anymore. It's hard to see the direction it's going in. Are we going to stick to FFXI only? Move on to full gaming? Who knows. What I do wish though...is that people can take acceptance to the fact that this is just a silly forum created to entertain us while we're bored at work, home, or on game. There really is no reason that we should get all huffy about what one person says to another since it is just that. I agree there are some posts that take it over the edge, and those people are dealt with. I guess I'll shut up now, probably people stopped reading after the first sentence. <_<;
