Mod consistancy is an issue, but being a big crybaby about it isn't going to change things. I think RoM is taking the "customer is always right" way of arguement and bitching about things until he gets his way, Sharpe.

Who said I was talking about RoM? I was talking about my own feelings.

When Shintroy decided to screw around with this site (as in attempt to hack it), Alyada chose to make a post, post his IP and tell everyone with the ability and knowledge to hack him in retaliation. Now, it's true his IP is readily available; however, that is not the issue. My email address is too, but for someone to post it telling everyone to email is a violation of the forum policy and privacy. But that's not all, he asked that people commit felonious acts on the behalf of QCDN while acting as a moderator. After people brought it to his attention and several pages later, he finally realized it was improper and removed the OP. He also said he would step down as moderator. Guess who is still a moderator to this day? The very same guy who always complains when people ask him to do something as a moderator and never has the time to do it, but never seems to want to give up those powers either. Don't get me wrong, I don't think poorly of all the moderating staff, just a select few who take the power and members for granted.

Oh get off it, you dumb bitch. Is my name green? Nope.

Seriously, I made a mistake. I've apologized for it. I was asked to stay by the admin. You had absolutely NO power to make me step down, and it's just killing you isn't it?

Too fucking bad Lavi.

Don't get worked up. Everyone knows Lavi is a jackass.

I really don't care either way anymore, other than a few awesome peeps this site has become a massive community bitch fest.

X2.....

way I kinda view is this

qcdn kinda runs itself in many ways based off the areas

bitchfests, ffxicomics, endgame discussion, general discussion, kinda run themselves

Being a mod isnt really a power trip since you are just putting yourself for the sake of others the clean up crew of some prick's trash on some thread that turns into a flame from some random person. It only bothers people that read the entire thing

mod doesnt seem to be a blessing it kinda sucks to dedicate so much time to read and stress over stuff

Hit a nerve? Good. You apologized, but what good is that when the damage was already done? Shintroy was and is an ass, I will give you that much, but to go that far showed you were just as bad if not worse than him. Since the admin, Reeve, asked you to stay after you clearly shouldn't have, it only asks the question of how much does Reeve really care about equality and fairness among his moderating staff. And for the record, I do not wish to be a mod for this site, that has never been my objective. My objective has always been a fair staff that follows a set of rules not their own desires.

The fact that so many threads and so many posts are completely overrun with this very same topic goes to show it's not just a passing fancy by some viewers. A lot of people are upset and it should be taken seriously. You always just laughed it off and locked the subject, but now that the green tag next to your name is gone, you can't do that, now can you? So if you don't like the subject, "get off it, you dumb bitch".

Sorry Lavi but you're wrong.

The reason you're seeing an abundance of topics like this is a complete overreaction to what people call the 'carebear sculli' phase. People complain when a mod does something and call them a 'care bear' and then when they don't do something they're lazy and should step down.

I will concede a huge part of the problem is the way Sculli handled things, but I don't think that has everything to do with it. I just don't think the way things are currently handled are all that better either. Considering that the current forum has at most only a couple hundred regular posters and several hundred silent posters, something is definately wrong. You said it yourself, QCDN is just a bitchfest (or something to that extent) and while it will always be partly that way with a flameboard, don't you think it should be a lot more welcoming and inviting to other members who want something different? Instead, those who aren't into this current atmosphere are chased away by sheer fear they will get caught up in it or worse, forcibly removed. And by all accounts, the only ones who can make that change are the admin and moderating staff.

Half of you people that say the mods aren't fair are liars. More times than not it has something to do with what they've done to you, done to a friend or done to somebody that you think is totally uber 1337 cool that you believe was power abuse. If you all think you can do a better job, go revive qcnn. That was cool for a week, wasn't it?

btw...HI LAVI! Didn't think you were even around anymore. I expected you once Vang's name started popping up so often though. Lets get ice cream sometime.

Yes, I think Shintroy is uber leet and all that gooie goodie stuff... Anyways, it has more to do with wanting a site that reflects what QCDN once was back when Sculli was originally the admin 2 years ago. A forum that's welcoming rather than discomforting.

HI Audino, still whoring yourself for gear? Thought so.

Fuck yes. Come by my MH, I'll show you my 5/5 WHM.

The Flameboard is a bitchfest, not QCDN. I don't even read 80% of the threads on here, Meezetroll can give me the Coles Notes while he waxes my balls.

Every other forum is full of great info. I've learned things on QCDN I would never have known about otherwise. Yes there are some inconsistencies in the modship, but as Sab stated this is a team of humans with differing opinions.

Following a specific, precisely-defined set of rules doesn't always work - sometimes posts border one or two rules, teeter on the edge of breaking it... should it get locked proactively because everyone knows where it's gonna go? Should it stay open and potentially see private info exposed to the public before the mods see it and can lock it? This is where personal opinion comes into play, and where the variance in rule enforcement attracts the mod-hating threads. It's a tough call to make and while everyone isn't going to agree, they should at least be able to understand why action was taken.

I think the mod team has been doing pretty damn good, but I can't speak for recent events on the Flameboard. This place defines 'anomaly' and I would not want to manage this Pandora's Box of finger-pointing and whining. Seems like a lot of FB topics are attention-grabbing "I want my 15 minutes" threads, where the OP simply hasn't taken the time to simmer down and think about the damn topic before going to tarnish someone's name. In the end, they often damage their own rep as much as the person they're attacking.

I'm sorry to see Aly, Blabj (he was a good mod, I'm not touching the hax subject), and Sab all stepped down - their opinions on what should/shouldn't be taken care of complied with a majority of the readers. You can't satisfy them all, but if you can satisfy most of 'em you're doing ok.

It's discomforting because you acted like a little kid when your LS broke. I thought you had jumped off a cliff or something, hadn't seen you trolling theh boards since that flame.

At least someone understands. Cmdr 4tw.

My shell broke so that they could further themselves without even paying back the very people who had got them to where they were. If you can't see that because those people are your buddies, fine, but coming from a guy who is stone cold and would sell out his buddies the moment he finds out they are a gil buyer, I find it quite ironic.

People will bitch no matter what the moderators do. If they mod too much, they're carebears. If they mod to little, they're assholes who don't care. Every little decision they make is scrutinized by half the people on this board. These scrutinies are not to see why what was done took place, but instead to try to find a way to point out why it was wrong. There's almost no attempt to understand the decisions, only attempts to find any and every way to tear them apart.

Mods can't do their job if they have to sit there and wonder what everyone is going to think of every little decision they make. Let them do their jobs. They spend hours on this board every day with no pay to go through and try to keep this board together. They CANNOT make everyone happy. If you are sooo unhappy here then find another board.

Oh and wow Lavi, freaking let it go. He apologized, and as far as I know no harm was done.

You even inspired me to join them, and what a great group of friends they are!

As far as I see it, they are paying each other back...because 90% of the LS joined. You didn't put them on your back and carry them, they do quite fine without you, so you aren't the big component you think you are.

And yes, I would sell out "friends" who cheat/buy gil. They ruin this game for me and others and for all I care they should take a long walk off a short pier.

My shell broke so that they could further themselves without even paying back the very people who had got them to where they were.
Oh gods, here we go again...

My shell broke because they are all incredibly selfish and wouldn't stick around and do something solely for my own personal gain at which point I would've laughed at them all and left after getting what I wanted because I don't give a shit about them, only myself. God they are selfish, not thinking about only me.

Fixed. Now quit being off-topic and go back into hiding again. Thanks.

Does someone need the Waaaaaaahmbulance?

Yea because it's much cooler to talk bullshit after the fact since the easiest thing to do was bitch to me about how you wanted things to change, all the mods needed replacing, everyone on QCDN is a whiney fucktard, and goading me in to bullshit at every chance the idea came across your PM box... and then when the opportunity was presented to take some action you played politics and bitched out.

Pick which face you're going to keep. Two doesn't suit you.

Mod consistancy is an issue, but being a big crybaby about it isn't going to change things. I think RoM is taking the "customer is always right" way of arguement and bitching about things until he gets his way, Sharpe.

You've got mods flaming outside FB. You've got flaming threads wide the fuck open on multiple boards that haven't been TOUCHED because of who's involved in them or because the mods DO NOT READ THE FUCKING BOARD. You've got people who report threads for practical violations that are easily noted and we get 'Who cares, honestly' and 'It was the most neutral thing i could do' political bullshit.

Take that customer's always right shit and shove it up your ass. The fact of the matter is there is no right and wrong currently unless you happen to be up or down on the popularity circuit. You didn't and couldn't cut it. You never could. All efforts were made to assist you and take up for you and you still screwed the pooch.

You're no different then Sculli. You bitch and moan about what you want and then when the opportunity comes along to get it that way by hook or crook you cover your ears and scream real loud until you can't help but bitch out and step down and out of the picture. History around here is entirely cyclical making the present and future entirely too predictable. I could've told you 2 weeks ago this was how it was going to wind up but i expected some kind of surprise from you based on the nature of your PMs and the conversations we had. You failed me miserably turn after turn because you weren't interested in rules so much as whatever political manuevering got you bitched at as little as possible.

Yea, you sure raised the fucking bar. Way to make an example.

Had i gotten my way you'dve grown some balls and stood up for yourself without me having to prod you, Aly.

It's not about who's happy and who isn't. It's about people who enforce, people who violate, and those who report. Plain and simple. Always has been. It's just been vary confusing for more than a few of you since the Sculli carebear movement to get back in to the swing of things. Your job as a mod is not to be popular, it's to moderate. If you can't handle some bitching and moaning then wtf were you doing as a mod in the first place?

Like i said it's not as if i can argue the legality of a law i happened to break on sight with a police officer. Same thing here if you guys had enough sense to actually get on the same page of what the laws are and go about the business of enforcing them as opposed to deciding who does and doesn't deserve fair treatment.
