PS3 Quantum Theory (By Tecmo O_O)

Quantum (working title 'Quantum Theory') is an upcoming video game developed and published by Tecmo exclusively for the PlayStation 3. During an interview with Gaming Union, Quantum producer, Kohei Shibata, stated the title is a PlayStation 3 exclusive because "Simply, it's the most powerful hardware".

The game centers around two characters named Syd and Fillena who must fight through a "living tower." The game will feature a cover system similar to kill.switch, Gears of War, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. A unique twist to the cover system however is that the tower is "living" and thus constantly adding and taking away ideal cover locations.

Tecmo, a Japanese game developer company, doing a Gears style Third Person Shooter, that doesn't have spikey haired emos (as far as we know), and implements a "living" cover system, and it's a PS3 exclusive?

Ever since Itagaki left they seemed to be doing even better with the creativity.

So when they say Gears of War style... They mean just copy Gears eh? The moving/living cover was done in Gears. It is no longer unique.

I cant get excited anymore for things like this. Sounds like just another TPS to me.

Not enough information really to feel one way or the other on this. I assume it'll be fun for a playthrough because all the tactical-cover games have that ever came out were, even that old one for N64. Hopefully it'll hang with the best of them but who knows til we actually see it and play it.

It's apparently due out in 2010 so I think more info will surface in the next few months, for example, TGS.

I guess i agree with that.. Most of these games are good for a playthrough.

Quantum anything is really beyond our understanding. If they can make the Cell B.E do some strange things. Then all the power to them.

There's no way they are actually using quantum physics in relation to this game. It's just a name to make it sound futuristic.

Wouldnt this game be a pc game if they were serious about that statement? Why yes it would..

I am very tired of hearing which console is the most powerfull when they all have advantages and flaws. There is no clear cut more powerfull console when it comes to PS3 vs 360... We know this allready.

Not really. The Cell BE is still faster at crunching numbers and can do things the latest PC processors would choke on.

More on topic, wasn't their a presentation about this game at some game show? I could have sworn there are already a few screenies floatin' around. I know Joystiq and Kotaku had a piece on it durin' E3.

Must've been low key because I can't remember anything about it at E3. I'll look quickly.
