I was invited to a party in CN the other day and was running a little behind so I could get some arrows and shehei. The other 5 members were waiting in Rolanberry. The leader of the PT was doing some random killing while he waited. All the sudden I see my text scrolling up from a lengthy drop off of an Ochu. In that drop was a blink band. The leader then asks if we should lot on the loot, but nobody seemed to reply. The leader then quartmasters the drop and takes all of it.
Even though he solo'd the kill, I guess I feel we were all eligable to receive the loot that dropped. I disbanded and b-listed him. Ive read to many horror stories about BCNM thieves and this guy came to mind. To me it was selfish of him to Qmaster. What do you guys think?
If we were on our way to BCNM40 in Giddeus and I took out Hjuu and got a signa but wasnt leader........then what??!!

In a normal case, I'd say if you solo something, you get the drops. The way you make it sound, it sounds like that if you killed Huu Mjuu, you'd WANT everyone to lot on it, which, you must be a really generous guy.

Just...no. You solo something, it should be your drops, period. By the way, if you're on the way to a BCNM, it's hopefully people you know and trust to begin with.

If he solo'ed the Ochu, it's common courtesy for the rest of the party to pass on the loots. He even asked your party about lotting, but it seems nobody cared, so what he did was ok in my eyes.

Same thing goes for the Signa. If you don't help kill or camp it, you don't deserve it.

Yeah, if he soloed a kill, he should get whatever drops he asks for. Now, if he did that with drops from a mob other party members helped him kill, there would be an issue.

Wow overreaction? What you did was totally uncalled for and rude. If i get a drop off a mob that nobody else killed, I'll be damned if I let it go. Unless of course I dont care and then i just let it go to whomever.'

Fae

what exactly do you feel you were entitled to?

what if a monster signa did drop, but you were nowhere even close or helped in the fight, you believe you should get a share of that? Id quartermaster it too lol

I think you need to look in the mirror and wake up it is you who is thieving, expecting rewards for no effort. Id be glad to have you out of my pt if that was the case.

I remember me and a friend camped Torrent for 5 mins while waiting for BCNM party. Amazing thing is we claimed it and got the drop...Now the turd paladin wanted to share the money with everyone when it was just 2 of us doing the actual camping and killing.

So um, yeah I agree with what everyone else has said. He soloed it so I see nothing wrong with what he did ^^

My rule is this, so long as another player whacked the mob at least once, they have some say in the drop, if someone soloed the mob, then it IS there drop.

Yea, he killed it, its his. If you cured him, or cast something on the mob, or hit it once, then you could bitch, but you didnt do anything, so you get nothing. Sounds fair to me really.

Everyone these days wants something for nothing, no one wants to work their ass off really. I need 1 million gil, is anyone going to hand it to me? I think not!

I would agree... if you didn't touch the mob at all... or even draw your weapon for that matter, you have no claim to the mob.

The fact you were in the party doesn't give any right to it at all either. What if he were in another zone, shoudl he ask if anyone wants the items he soloe'd too? The fact he offered his treasure to the rest of the pool is really courteous of him. I would always pass as I would think "What did I do to deserve it?" unless he really had no use for the item.

But putting this on you... if you had a big problem with it, why didn't you say you'd like to lot for it? If he asked and no one replied, then I think he's done his due diligence in being nice. I wouldn't expect the guy to beg people to lot on treasure he solo'd.

Azariah.,... actually u are the greedy one.I remember killing 500 mobs once and my party leader lotted on all that shit..... so now thats mean. Now ur leader killed the damn thing and u wanna lot on it while sitting 5 miles away

I see you guys' point. I guess I'm just so used to letting drops go random in my partys whether Im leader or not. In this case, the drop was somewhat good. After the leader claimed it, the whole party complained. I'm not the only one who felt this way. The WHM of that party actually bailed as well to join our new party, which I wasn't leader of.
I think some of you may change your tune if a cool drop comes your way....who knows?

sorry, people can bitch all they want...just because others do it why does that make it right? Your defense holds no weight im sorry, its plain greed. I dont even understand why this is an issue.

Id gladly kick your ass outta my pt for that, and every other little whoremonger loot hungry bastard. Its not yours, so you dont get it or a piece of it, tough shit.

Having to even explain this is mind numbing..lol :(

he even asked if you guys wanted to lot on it. you didnt even answer him. what right do you have to complain at that point.

Well, Im assuming some were afk. I always go afk when people are on their way as well. I feel that once your in a "party", any loot should go random. If you want to farm I think that should be done on your own don't you think? Where is the line drawn?
I was making new macros for my RNG at that point Panda. @2 seconds after the party noticed that the leader Qmastered, they all said something. However, I did not because I was too late to answer to begin with.

ive had situations like that xp'ing in boyahda tree and we had to escape for one reason or another, and people want to afk for 10-15 mins. So i run out and kill goobbues for cuttings/moss, and lot them. Never has anyone lotted my drops while waiting for others. Like you said they were afk and you were making macros, I still fail to see you point of view.

1. the headband is like 2k.

2. the party doesnt start until the xp does.

3. Meeze>Pannda

Why would I bother to do any work then if I know I can get the money someone else earned with no direct input from me?

And I have been in your situation, and I felt dirty getting a freakin silver beastcoin assigned to me when I didn't do anything to deserve it. What did I do? I traded it back to the person who solo'd it. Now I just make it a note to just pass on things I haven't contributed, UNLESS it's something that'd be useful to me specifically. However, the person who did kill it on their own should have first rights to it.

How would feel if the guy said, "Well guys, I'll just be farming in the fields....ivnite me when you're beside me because I don't want you to leech off my treasure..." ? Is that basically what you want to make this guy sound like? Because he already tried to offer the item.... I don't see what more he should have done. "GUYS.. <call1> <call1> <call1> <call1> do you want MY treasure?"
"<call1> <call1> <call1> 2 minute warning until I take it."
"<call1> <call1> <call1> Last chance...."
"<call1> <call1> <call1> Just in case you didn't know it... last chance to say something"
"<call1> ok.... just wanted to check again if no one else wanted it...."
"Ok guys, can I lot on it and everyone pass?"

Would that be something you'd like for him to do?

They did the work... Demand the fruits of ones labor when you gave no help yourself is slavery. This person killed the mob, without the help of the others, so by your logic because this person did the work to kill the mob by him/herself the items belong to the "Greater Good" because they have "need" of these items as well? Get what you did not work for at the expense of those who did the work. I do believe that is called communism.
