1. Does it always take all your MP, or does that change when you get higher?

2. What's the deal with pressing R2 while its going?

3. What does Mist Change mean? (I've seen it while pressing R2 during Quickening.)

4. Can the Quickening ever miss or be blocked?


(I assume the answer to #4 is no, but Trio of Quickening Questions didn't sound as good.)

1. It uses a "mist charge"
As you get more quickening levels, you get more Mist Charges, which doubles your MP pool, and then tripples with the third.
2. It randomly selects an action you can take. Be it lvl 1-3 quickening, or Mist Charge
3. It gives back a Mist charge (not your MP tho) which lets that character do another quickening
4. No
 
it works like a slot machine to best describe. The highest I've gone was an 8 hit quickening. It's best to start off with all 3 fully charged and bounce between the 3 as much you can before the timer goes
 
Also remember about the "Skillchains" of 12 stringing together the right levels of quickenings creates bigger and far more damaging attacks then the quickenings themselves. The strongest one which is 3 attacks of each level begins the strongest attack in game too.
 
I've gotten 5 enders so far:

Inferno, Ark Blast, Torrent, Windburst, and Luminescence.

Think I'm missing Blackhole?

Blackhole would be the strongest move @ 3 3 3. I don't remember the names of all of them but I think there's 7 total.
 
There's 8 total:

Inferno: 3 lvl 1 Quickenings
Cataclysm: 7 lvl 1 Quickenings
Torrent: 2 lvl 1 Quickenings, 3 lvl 2 Quickenings
Windburst: 5 lvl 2 Quickenings
Luminescence: 5 lvl 3 Quickenings
Ark Blast: 2 lvl 1 Quickenings, 2 lvl 2 Quickenings, 2 lvl 3 Quickenings
Whiteout: 3 lvl 1 Quickenings, 3 lvl 2 Quickenings, 3 lvl 3 Quickenings
Black Hole: 4 lvl 1 Quickenings, 4 lvl 2 Quickenings, 4 lvl 3 Quickenings
