Quest 64

idk if it will be or not... But this is one of the most overlooked games that was on the N64. And one of the best. I <3 this game

Ehhh........ It was OK.

The ending was kinda poopy, though.

I remember renting it, didn't think it was all that hot

I enjoyed it, mostly because it was really effing hard at many parts... a rarity in RPGs nowadays.

omg I remember renting this game back in the day. It was soooooooooooooooooo hard!

quest 64 sucked...

Earth Barrier + Avalanche = Broken

All you had to do was lvl Water Magic and Earth Magic... Earth Magic for the barrier and avalanche and water for the mp drain... that's about it..

So you're saying it sucked purely because it had a broken combo?

Quest64 sucked for more reasons than that. The biggest of which for being an RPG thats not the N64 Mother game, which never came out. >:(

Meh, I remember Quest 64, it was an okay game, not the worst RPG, but it just had such a boring storyline. And that "betrayal" at the end, I never even noticed Shannon till then. An alright game, I did enjoy the magic system somewhat, that was about it.

well there's more to it than a broken combo... game seemed very underdeveloped. I heard the reason was because OoT was coming out and quest wanted to be the first rpg on n64. The battle system concept seemed cool.. but it was very lacking. That with the broken earth barrier, magic drain, and avalanche made it that you never had to lvl wind and fire magic. I wished that you weren't by yourself in the game. Very linear, no true sidequests really. I hated the blue cave tho...

The difficulty was what made me like it so much, and the battle system was fun.

But they made a Mother 3 for GBA! <3
But it's also probably never gonna come out in America, and it isn't as good as it's former anyhow...

I thought Quest 64 was decent, though one or two points were "no return" and forced you to fight a boss to continue, having no way to level your skills more. Nepty was the bane of my existence in that game...and I agree, difficulty in RPGs back then was pretty fun, and, well, actually difficult. There's SOME RPGs nowadays that have a little challenge (Shadow Hearts, Digital Devil Saga) but even then some bosses are just a joke at best. I remember seeing the final boss in Shadow Hearts and being all excited because it looked like some incarnate from a Math Curse book, only to take it down in one turn by using an item that let me attack 3x in one round. It was just that weak. Boo.

I remember renting it with my brothers and we thought it was hard..then I played years later and I thought it was fun but I never beat it. I hardly remember anyting about it xD except when you were in a fight, you were surrounded by some pen or something

Hard? Dear god, that was one of the first RPGs I played, and I still beat it within 3 days... and that's cuz I only played it for like 2 or 3 hours a day. It was ridiculously easy. Every time you died, your stats went up. The first boss was the hardest one in the game; I died to him enough after awhile though that he was no match. I never died again after that, I don't think. And yeah, that combo Khali mentioned made you invincible basically. If those two things weren't bad enough... from what I remember, the story was pathetic, and there wasn't a single side-quest.

I asked my dad to rent it for me, cuz my friend had it and said I could beat it in a single rental... but my dad couldn't find it at Blockbuster, so he decided to be nice and bought it for me. I felt so bad... he spent like 50 bucks. I ended up selling it to EB, and they gave me like $5 for it in the box, with the instruction manual and everything; yet I also sold them a game boy game with just the game and the little plastic case thing, and they gave me like $15. I guess they knew it sucked too. XD

This man deserves some love. He only gets one game in America that was hardly advertised (I only got it because I happened across a demo in a store). He even gets into Super Smash Bros, and most of the people that have played that don't even know who he is.

No respect =/

I think the fact that you actually had a chance to 'physically' dodge attacks was what made the battle system interesting.. so if you positioned yourself well.. you can dodge. Easy example of this can be found in the first boss of the game. Goto http://speeddemosarchive.com/GameList.html and look up quest 64. You'll see what i mean.

Wanna know what N64 game sucked even HARDER and we'll probably NEVER see it on Wii's Virtual Console?

............................... South Park

Yep. That's right.

I bought that piece of crap when it came out for N64.

A COOKIE CUTTER FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER FOR HOME CONSOLE.

I hate Cookie-Cutter First Person Shooters... Which is why I hate the GameStop Employees out here in my city for using clever wordplay and catching me off guard into actually reserving Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus ...

Ugghhh...

South Park sucked SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much... You know how much Funcoland (back before "Babagges", "Software Etc.", "Funcoland", and "EB World" got 'absorbed' into "GameStop") gave me for that piece of crap?

I'll give ya a hint. A rapper named himself after the ammount.

FIFTY CENTS...

$0.50 ... For South Park on N64...

My god...

And that was with the box, cartridge, instruction manual, AND while the game was still brand new!

Earthbound (Mother 2) was an amazing title, I must say it's my favorite game on the SNES, or perhaps ever.

There was something about the game that was just amazing, I guess it was because it was just odd yet done so well. Even the music is fantastic, sticks in my head even to this day.

I agree the Americas don't give the Mother Series much love, but who knows what could happen. As long as Earthbound makes its way to the VC, I'll be good. As for Mother 1 and 3, I have them imported and enjoy them bunches.

Even though Mother 3 for the N64 was never released, the GBA release of it was actually pretty good. As good as the previous game? One could argue. The plot was actually darker, and the characters were more developed, the music was good (most derived from previous games), but the towns and the goofyness (though the Japanese have a different taste in jokes) wasn't as enjoyable as Mother 2, it was a good game overall.

On topic, I remember Quest 64 somewhat, I rented back when the Nintendo 64 was one just once, and all I remember was me getting stuck at one part and that's it. I can hardly recall the gameplay, but I think I enjoyed it somewhat. I wouldn't complain if it was released on the VC.
