Question about Chocobo Breeding

I've decided to breed my chocobo, but I have a question about the process. When looking at the VSC honeymoon tickets at ffxiclopedia, it says:

Speak with Finbarr again after 00:00 (midnight) JST. He will give you a chocobo egg if one was laid.

For those that have bred chocobos, do you always get an egg, or is there a chance that you don't get one?

I've always received an egg.

Yes you always recieve one but that info you got is incorrect. You get the egg after 24 hours real time not after the server reset.
