Now I know what most do, pretty obvious butwhat about Character Models Displayed? Clipping Plane? Animation Frame Rate? Background Aspect Ratio?

I've been wondering on these a looong time and curious on if I can alter any to reduce lag in high stress situations like Sky/Limbus/Dynamis/HNM's

Char models displayed = visibly how many pc's / npc's you can see on the screen at once. You will still see everyone's name, but this affects whether or not you see their model. Excellent for dynamis.

Clipping plane = how far into the distance you can see.

Aspect ratio = mainly for non-standard monitors, like widescreen. Difficult to explain but that's the only time you'll need to change it. If your monitor is not widescreen, this should be set at 4:3.

For dynamis if I'm getting lag, I turn down char models displayed and set shadows to "normal". That usually fixes it for me.

Maaaaaaaajor thankies :D What about Animation Frame Rate though if you know?^^

Ever play a game and it gets really choppy? Turning this down will have that effect.

Yeah, animation is smoother with animation frame rate full, but when turned down there is less lag. Usually the only place you'd have to worry about these is in dynamis, dragon's aery when fafnir's up or besieged.

Two biggest things you can do for graphical lag are turn off shadows entirely, and turn down animation frame rate. Add weather effects if it's a particularly laggy weather type (such as double ice).

Thank all of you for the help.^^ Hope it helps, we'll see in a bit. :D
