Question about DC/Lag Issues

Ok so Thursday night I suddenly had some kind of an error. My game kept lagging and R0, My ventrillo server kept kicking me and when people would speak I would have major jumps between speech. Anyone else ever have this issue?

Im on desktop PC, running Vista, AT&T Uverse is my internet provider

The past few weeks i've had a lot of lag issues myself. sometimes worse than others. at first i thought it was system lag caused from my PC running hot/not getting enuff air. so i moved my pc outa the enclosure on my comp desk and i still get lag. i also checked my CPU temp and its still running at or below normal temperature. i doubt its my ISP cuz i have cable and that should be more then enuff to handle ne thing FFXI throws at me. i dont run any back ground task either. so my only assumption is that its server lag or it could possibly be peeps around me causing me this lag. although i never fully d/c i just get a lot of lag and pretty much have to guess by timming everything with my counters which seem to not lag for some reason.

also im running a custom built PC with water cooling and plenty of RAM and NVIDIA 8600

Maybe i should get another 8600 and run dual cards but i doubt this is the problem since FFXI is made to play at PS2 limitations lol.

there is probably no true explanation why this is happening :3

I've noticed a few people disconnecting.
I've been disconnected a few times myself... and I'm on a brand-spankin' new laptop. Maybe it's Vista lol. Who knows.

I have been disconnected a few times this past week. I haven't really received much lagging issues. I just recently got disconnected around 2:20AM EST 11/6/08.
ISP: Optimum Online (Boost - 30mbit/5mbit)
PC & Laptop
Both wired connection

I am unable to get on still...
