I have had this problem forever, does anyone know how to solve this?

This happens only for rings (or earrings) slots, when you try to equip 2 rings that have the same name.

say I press my WS macro that equip w/e rings,

then go back to TP macro

/equip L.ring "Toreador's ring"
/equip R.ring "Toreador's ring"

But the game will only equip ONE of the rings, and display an error msg ( cannot equip etc) and I have to press the macro multiple times so that the second one is equiped. I have the same Pb on BLM for my 2 snow rings, and also for the attack earrings on monk.

I dont think I have ever made a macro swapping both rings to the same but I think with macros, it would search for the first item with that name and try to equip it. Since there is no wait in between your 2 lines I would assume that it is trying to equip the same ring in two different slots.

Have you tried putting a /wait in there?

Trying putting like a /wait 1 between the two items of the same name. The nature of the command is telling it to equip the same ring in both slots and it doesn't process that there is a second ring without a wait.

Try using ring1/ring2 and ear1/ear2. I have no wait commands in my equipment macros and I've never had any problems.

I dunno if that'll fix it, since L.Ring is Ring1 and R.Ring is Ring2, and it's just a semantics issue then.

edit? before I finish? On second thought, Ring1 and Ring2 might actually be the correct way to handle it. I had a macro for Ruby Rings before I got a Rajas, and I used Ring2 and Ring1 and it handled just fine.

This is what I was going to say too. I've never had any problems switching back and forth from Woodsman's to STR+ or whatever, using two of both.

I would assume it would work better than L.Ring and R.Ring because that is how they are listed on the equipment menu.

hell, i never notice that. however, everywhere i've seen, they're listed as interchangeable notation.

i had that problem too. i fixed it by:

/equip ring1 "Sniper's Ring";
/equip body "xxxx";
/equip head "xxxx";
/equip ring2 "Sniper's Ring";
/equip ear1 "Earring";
/equip waist "xxxx";
/equip feet "xxxx";
/equip ear2 "Earring";

OH my god thanks eiteen this worked!

Try this, i used this method when i was swapping between 2 Flame & Sniper rings on WAR before i got Rajas, never had a problem.

well ring1 ring2 didnt work. Bur eiteen's methode or /wait 1 worked thanks. just have to put the /equip ring macro at different places away.

I'd suggest this, and also make sure the ring equip lines aren't one after the other. I find that having one ring/earring at the top and one at the bottom is best if they have the same name. I used to have that problem, but haven't for all the years I have done it this way. You shouldn't need /wait commands.

no you're letting the secret to good macros go free! but yes this is the solution to that problem, you need to have lines of other stuff in between even if no /wait included it'll work

I've had the same problem, I just separated it with 2 commands in between the 2 rings.

But I think you guys figured that out already.

Since everyone already gave that solution, heres another...

trade one toreadors for sniper+1 <.<
