if i where to upgrade my 20gig to a 120 gig HDD how pray tell would i go about transfering everything without buying a memory card as well?

They made a kit that does it. You should go to a Gamestop or whatever your local gaming place is and ask if they can do it, they might charge a small fee, but it's better than buying the kit for a one time use.

The 120GB hard drives come with a cable that lets you transfer all your memory to the other hard drive.

never pay for the transfer XD its FREE! they cable comes with the hard drive, OR if you get an elite you just look up the form online, fill it out and send it to MS and they send you the disk and the cable to do it, thats what i did.

i dont need a new xbox i just need a bigger HDD i wanna download from livearcade and other stuffs and i only have a 20gig

but i'll look into that thanks everyone

You are right about going to gamestop i wanted to upgrade my harddrive from 20Gb to 120GB. when you buy the 120GB they give you the cord and a code. The code is for you to call micosoft and you give them the code so u can transfer all your stuff to one harddrive to ohter(Note you will have to have 2 Xboxes to do this) they only reason you need that code cause they dont' want you sharing downloaded content with your friends that you used micosoft points to get.

And thats what i was told to do from the poeple that worked at gamestop.

The 120GB hard drive comes with a transfer cable and a CD with the software that runs the transfer.

Nothing else needed if you're using the same 360 and just want to upgrade from the 20GB to the 120GB drive. I got one myself, it's real simple and comes with directions, even.

i like to know how you did that cause i tryed and it would not let me trasfer things that i used msp for i had to call MS to get a code to i could transfer everything.

I'm talking about the retail off-the-shelf 120GB standalone hard drive, not buying an Elite that comes with a 120GB hard drive and transferring to that from your old 360 with a 20GB drive.

I'm still using the same 360, just with the 120GB drive I bought. The old 20GB drive it came with is collecting dust.
