I was checking this out wiki and all sounds good, except that it doesn't mention whether or not the sheep are suceptable to sleep. Can any of you tell me whether or not they can be slept rather than having to gravity and/or bind them while other members take them out one at a time (unless I go in packed with melee)?

Incase they're resistant, my enfeebling magic is capped out (as black mage) with no merits, but with +30 from gear, which brings me to 260.

This was a write up by Kodi on taking this down almost all bst style:

The BST LS on Quetzalcoatl did the BCNM50 Hostile Herbivores in Horlais Peak this weekend. We went 5/6. Here's the report.

We attempted this one with 6 BST/WHM. We wiped on the first fight quite quickly. We attempted to take all 3 on at once with 2 BST and 2 Carries on each sheep. This was a mess. Carries didn't hold hate due to sleep attacks and we all went down. One of us tried one of the new Antlion jugs on it. It went down very fast. Their DEF is a big issue.

After the first wipe we decided to kite 2 and concentrate on one at a time. One of us changed jobs to RDM so we ran as 5 BST/WHM and 1 RDM/BLM. We won all the remaining runs with this strategy, however, there were frequent deaths in all fights. Personally, I died 3 times of 5 runs.

The strategy was for one BST and the RDM to kite, while the rest of us concentrated on the remaining sheep. We ran into problems with the constant sleepga attacks. To do this you need to have about 2 stacks of poison potions, per person. We didn't have enough and were running out about halfway through the runs. With Carrie constantly napping we had hate issues resulting in numerous deaths. However, with the kiting strategy we were able to manage the deaths and still win the fights. Each fight took about 15 minutes.

The drops on this were average. You usually get one of the RSE Lvl-50 Belts. I got the Ocean Belt, which is selling for 210,000gil right now. Also got a Melody earring for BRD which is selling around 300k, A Demon Horn and a Darksteel Ingot.

Some of the others drops included: Jungle Belt, Steppe Belt, Gold Ingots.

Having the RDM helped with Kiting, Raises and Cures. Puts a lot more MP at your disposal. Bind does not work on the sheep either so you can only kite with Gravity. You could also kite with 2 BST instead.

I would only recommend this BC if you specifically need the RSE belt. I'm holding onto mine but will probably stick with the Life Belt. As a money maker it is disappointing. Tails of Woe gives more bang for the buck. Bring TONS of poison potions.

I know it doesn’t mention anything about sleeping them but I hope the info helps none the less

This bcnm pretty much sucks. The rewards are hardly worth the effort it takes in my opinion. I tried this one with a group of people about a year and a half ago, and to my knowledge, it hasn't changed much. The BST we took had the issues the above post described, and the sheep did not sleep. Gravity may or may not be an issue nowadays since I haven't tried this post-magic resistance changes, though it seemed to be resisted a lot when we tried. But yeah. The sheep hit hard and attack fairly fast, and they don't go down easily. The group I was with had a pld, a whm, a rdm, a sam, a bst and a drg.

If you still want to give it a whirl, I did some searching and found this strategy from someone on Leviathan:

The party:
SAM/WAR
PLD/WAR
WHM/SMN
RDM/BLM
RDM/BLM
RNG/NIN

We have been friends for a long time and knew how to work with eachother.

Decent gear for level 50.

Basic food, poison potions, etc.

The enemy:

Three sheep... they're pretty normal... except...

They rarely use anything but the sheep move called "Sheep charge"(or was it lamb chop? i dunno)... which had medium damage and a small knockback... about 100-150 to a 50 PLD.

They will use AoE sleep which is why poison potions are very important.

They're probably equal to a T sheep... really taken down without too much trouble.

The battle plan:

The main job of the redmages is to keep the other sheep busy while the other four people kill them... heres how it goes:

Go to the edge of the ring after having all buffs cast.

one RDM picks the right or left and the other RDM picks the opposite side.

The tank picks the Middle always.

Start off by having tank run in there and voke the middle, then each rdm casts gravity on the appropriate sheep IMMEDIATLY.

after the sheep are gravitized, the rdms should now run down the slope and almost out of sight for the sheep... where you can just target it.

once you reach the bottom, just run around the sheep and continue doing this.

make sure to have stoneskin and blink up at all times.

Once gravity wears, you should be far away and see him moving fast, just recast it.

In the event that you get put to sleep, cancel stoneskin immediatly.(Poison pot will wake you up.)

The first sheep should be dead in 3-4 minutes.

Once he is dead, take the sheep off of the rdm closest to you and begin with that one.

Now the second rdm has two choices, help the other rdm(still kiting the sheep) or heal the party, debuff, refresh, etc...

well, it's very situational.

Take a look at their health, mp, and the health and status of the other RDM. Use your own judgment to keep everyone alive.

After the second sheep is dead, you are going to be low on MP and just convert and take over for the whm... and it's pretty hard to lose at this point.

Wrap up:

1. party had 2 RDMs. very important.

2. use poison potions to counter sleep.

3. 2HR on your first orb just so you get the hang of it.

4. fights should take 9-10 minutes.

5. STAY OUT OF RANGE OF SLEEP.

Good luck!

guess I'll be playing with three treasure boxes again then....alone. Thanks guys ^^
