Question about the rules in Arctyrael's sig

I was browsing the rules when I saw the link in Arctyrael's sig to make sure that I wasn't breaking any rules. I came across this one and had a question about how you define harrassment:

"Flaming - Its definitely not okay to go around trolling members and harassing them."

The reason I ask is this pic definately fits my definition of harassment:

Everything else in that post can probably be ignored since it was the FB, but seriously, you guys don't consider those rates to be harassment? Or, is there no recourse for breaking that rule, you just put everyone on the honor system and hope they don't break it? Maybe after you reach a certain post count and have certain friends you get some sort of diplomatic immunity?

Just looking for a little clarification since I would be willing to guess if I started frequently calling someone multiple forms of "bitch" it probably wouldn't go over too well, but then again maybe it would.
 
Definitely harassment. The guidelines for QCDN are not followed very frequently, and then they arent acted upon when theyre broken.. I mean, sometimes they are, but often times, theyre not.

Anyway, are mods/admins able to view ratings? I would hope so. I believe Zer's SSis legitimate, but its completely possible for someone to SS their rates, and just open that SS in photoshop and add their own text, maybe to force someone not deserving of a ban to get banned...

Ratings should be given out on how valuable the information is that a player posted, or how helpful they have been. Too many times ratings are given as brownie points or just to be an utter annoyance (asshole I suppose is what the "rate-downers" would call it.)

I personally dont care for the ratings, youll have some pretty smart 1 greens, and some pretty retarded 5 blue's. And too many times, those 5 blue's may rate down a 1 green, sending them into an abyss of red, even when they dont deserve it. Its dont purely because "They dont like them." Thats considered harassment.

Personally, I wouldn't consider just rate downs being harassment. It's the comment of "fat bitch" being spammed that I would see as harassment.
 
I dont mean rate downs in general are harassment, but a lot of the time, they are used as an outlet for harassment because they are out of others eyes
 
It's nothing new for him. He constantly harasses people he feels "deserve" it. Trolls people for the sheer fact of something done to him or someone he MIGHT know because he feels that his "right". There are a few others like this on the boards, continuous rates downs for nothing more then spite. Doesn't really seem like Mods/Admins will do anything about Rate Downs, however.

It's a bit hard for mods to regulate rating comments. Though yes, they should do something if its reported :P

this would work, along with a legitimate way of proving what rates say besides SS's
 
Mods do not have access to rate ups, admins have a way to view them, but essentially there is no way report a rep up/down just yet.

Zer has brought this to my attention and it's one of the main reasons that we are trying to find a fix to the ignore feature for moderators since some of the people are mods for the private forums.

That is pretty petty though, I will say that.

hear ye hear ye. I am sure some members will soon be ignored by a good portion of the site -- and the only ones they have to blame will be themselves.

Hey I mean it was ok when people did the same thing to me, using the rate down system as a weapon.(And continue to do so) I complained several times about using it as a weapon and complained to mods when nothing was done about it.

A few of the members calling me names that would not be appropriate as well in the rate down system. But hey you know it wasn't looked at as harassment back then, nor is it now. As mods already have said, they have to be consistent and fair.

But as some of you don't know, one of the people who did this was Xean, of which he sent me some beautiful letters. Zerayla isn't innocent as a whole either, her beautiful blog was one as an example which i showed you all in a few threads, as well as treating some of my RL friends like crap.

If action is taken, please take it so that everyone that has done inappropriate rate downs are punished ^^. Because I guarantee that I could list a handful that troll and rate down people based on sheer pleasure, or say very not nice things in the rate downs.

So of course because it was done to you... it's only fair you can do it to someone else.. amirite? Please.. this isn't elementary school. You take things above and fucking beyond what they should/need to be taken.

Trying to play the victim and calling "But someone did it to me first..." Just makes it all the more pathetic you continue to do it.

I assure you this is not the victim card. This is the "if mods do something to me, which is completely up to them; I would expect them to do it to everyone that rates down in non(professional) acts." Which would be any rate down that constitutes harassment or any rate down that is basically reported based on the fact that it had nothing to do with the post.

I assure you there are alot more than just me doing it


And lets keep it civil outside the flameboards ok? Under the rules what you just said would be flamebait ^.^

In this case, uarerite. It has been made okay for it to be done to jyak, so its only fair game at this point.

I hounded Jyak more than anyone when he went nuts over the YYR, and then he dropped it except for when it was in his sig. Then everyone suddenly started trolling him more than other far more hated members. RL attacks against him left and right, and one one ban after multiple infractions of the RL rule.

I'm not saying ONLY punish Jyak. There are alot of people who troll others just to rate them down constantly. They should all have consequences.

Last I checked, since a Blog is separate entirely of QCDN, Mods/admins don't have to punish based on actions performed there.
