Small bit of back story before my question sorry.
Ok so about... 2 weeks ago I go to play some halo 3 on my Xbox for the first time. (Beat it on my roomates on co-op day of release) Sure enough I get the red ring of death, and I can no longer play any game or use my xbox. Period. Played plenty of xbox before halo so no idea what happened there, I am going to just say coincidence. Honestly don't really care why its broke no real need to play until Mass Effect comes out anyways.
Next day I register my Xbox and try to get online support, I get error messages so I call Microsoft and they agree to send me the xbox return box so they can replace it (See: original generation 360s are more or less a POS). No problems at this point. I get it last Wed and ship it out that evening, doing everything they say to do, so assume pick up was on Thursday morning. I go and check my repair status with my handy dandy repair number order that they gave me and lo and behold I no longer have any registered hardware or any active repairs going on. As far as I can tell (and trust me I looked) all the data they had on me is just plain gone. Now Microsoft being Microsoft their customer support closes @ 3 PM EST, why 3 PM EST you may ask, gods only know, I pin it on incompetence in choosing where to outsource. So I cant even call and say WTF is my xbox until tomorrow.
Now my question is this. Should I be surprised and alarmed that I no longer have any registered hardware or any active? Did Microsoft infact steal my Xbox? Or since they are sending me a new one they removed my dead xbox from registered hardware and turned around and shipped it all in one day? (which differs GREATLY from the expected time of 3-10 weeks to replace an xbox)
Anyone who has gone through this please give me your input on how concerned I should be. I want to play Mass Effect when it comes out SOOOO damn much but not to the point of buying a new xbox cause Microsoft stole mine cause the first one I got was defective.
