In an LS I spoke with some time ago, one of the leaders attempted to defend the lack of leadership going on.. Basically it seemed like the leaders were for show only, but she went on to say "none of you could manage this, you'd crack within a week"...

Well.. I am curious.. in a Sky LS.. What exactly is so tormultuous and agonizing that only a select few have the ability to bear such a burden as to act as a leader in a shell?

I am not saying it's easy, as I do not know the exact intriquicies of being a leader in any form of endgame, but strictly sky? I would very much like to know what is so gruelling as to feel most couldn't cut it?

Seems simple enough to me but I'd love some imput from any shell heads (preferably not if you're -the- leader.. as that kinda burden is a bit, I simply mean the co-leads.. "officers" if you will) on what it is that makes their job so intense. Nothing better in life than learning hmm?

You have to make strategies and teach them to your members, you have to modivate your members and keep them showing up, you have to keep things organized, and you have to keep track of kills, drops and who gets what. If you have a point system you have to keep track of points as well as attendence.

Well strategies seldom differ from one that works all the time that most people use...
Motivation? If people don't see Gods and want their armor/to better their LS.. they um.. shoukdn't be there?
Keeping track is cake. Spreadsheet ftw.

I'll check Darklion's tomorrow, I'm not up for a vid tonight with XI running.

Thanks for responses.

If you read the QCNN post about yourself you seen it already.

I don't watch the views of retards and halfwits. Sorry ^^

*edit* Please don't promote that reject hole trashpit in my topic.

Running any LS is hard, endgame or not. Just keeping a shell populated and entertaining with XI's fickle population is a challenge.

Running an Endgame LS isnt the slice of cake everyone presumes it to be. I can speak from experience. No matter what, you have to do whats best for the LS as a whole, if that means stepping on someones toes.. then Stomp away and keep moving. Sacrifices have to be made, just pray you're not one of them.

Figuring out a time that ensures the most people will show up, while also having a balance of not too much CC so that you can actually get shit done, making sure everyone gathers together on time, getting people to come up, organizing parties to be the most efficient possible, making sure people come on the right jobs, sending people back to HP to change to the right job, taking down attendence, adding people as they arrive late, subtracting people as they leave, dealing with afk people, subtracting points for afk people, finding out how many CCers you have, finding out where the CCers are, figuring out which NMs are up, figuring out which NMs windows are up, finding out when NMs died, prioritizing NMs according to what you need, figuring out where to go first, figuring out where to go second, figuring out how to split up your farming group once it exceeds 18, figuring out what to do with second group, making sure everyone gets to camps, making sure everyone gets to camps alive, make sure everyone knows the strategy, adjusting parties as people leave, deciding when you can take a break to eat and use the bathroom, decide when the group is finished farming, dealing with getting only 2 stones in 4 hours, deciding when to leave even though you still have free reign and have 10 stones in 3 hours, all the while you've already farmed 300+ hours in sky.

And thats just sky farming. Prolly forgot somthing too.

Just the fact you have to get peope at Ulli when its the only stone you need. And you got to keep them there for the whole window. And then you see the Japanese linkshell who just showed up got claim.. go watch hope they somehow wipe to a mob that can easily be duod. Keep your linkshell motivated enough to be there for the next ulli pop, deciding what to do until the next window for Ulli. Deciding who gets what based on "need" should said person next in line for a piece of gear not show up and theres more then 1 person second by points. Determining who to let in your linkshell. Determing what the standards for allowing them in your shell is. Determining rules in the Ls after they have joined. Determining how to pick from 2 seemingly equal choices. Deciding when and how to solve arguements within the linkshell while keeping everyone happy. Making rules and actually enforcing them. Deciding what jobs are needed. Deciding wether or not to remove someone from said position for next said item. Deciding to remove someone from said position inside the linkshell. Deciding to remove someone from said linkshell.

There's a little bit more info on sky LS leadership.

I'M NOT SAYING IT'S EASY, I'M JUST SAYING IT'S EASY LOL.

That's all I read.

The rest will be removed for being a flame I am sure. Half-wit attempts to berate fail, keep it up and see how far it gets you.

Thanks Zoo for pointing out the -real- jobs of -real- leaders. I guess what my problem was before was that I saw -none- of this going on. The leaders did jack shit and the "well I work and go to school" ..... then don't be a leader. I saw nothing of Zoo's post mentioned aside TWO people who did all the work when there was like.. 6 or 8 leaders.

So rather than get your panties in a bunch and whining that I don't know my own questions, why don't you shut up and let other people talk who have something worth reading?

Thanks zoo.

QCNN: Home for the mentally unfit.

Its nice to know your Registered there too ^^

Why not start your own endgame shell and experience the joys of leading a group yourself?

Even if I wrote three pages of stories during my time as a co-leader with Nasya and my times as a co-leader in a 500 member guild in WoW, some dumbshit will always find a way to make the previous fucktard look golden.

I NEVER EVER want to be in charge of anything in MMOs again. Adults will never act like they should and it's not worth it since I don't get anything but grey hair from ungrateful lootwhoring fuckwads.

Dear Mods,
I would just like to point out that this in of itself is a flame towards anyone that visits QCNN (including some of you mods yourselves). The term half-wit is derogitory, and in this case used wrongly as she cannot know the intelligence of everyone that posts on QCNN. In the spirit of a kindler, gentler QCDN, please rectify this situation. Thank you for your time.

Edit: Here sig is also a flame.

I can make a remark about a sect of people, there is no personal attacks there. If my post or sig are edited I would expect a great deal of QCDN people to be edited down to half their post count. You included. ^^
And Darklion, I felt like it'd be fun to toss a few comments to the gimp board.

Thanks to the people who were actually good enough to stay on topic.. and stop saying "make your own" when theres already 10x more than enough sky shells. My point was valid and my curiousity genuine. I saw poor leadership and was curious what a leader is -supposed- to do.

Flaming...
Communications clearly insulting other QCDN members, individually or as a group (i.e. linkshells as a whole), directly or indirectly, are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to: name-calling ("You're an idiot", "You moron"); direct insults and orders ("Screw you", "Go kill yourself"); insinuations ("Are you stupid or something?"); or insults towards family ("Your mom..."). Repeated condescending and/or sarcastic posts toward a linkshell or a member can also constitute harassment.

Then all people's comments about myspace = gone? Nice try. Plus, I am not insulting QCDN members (read the first sentence) I am calling out a site for morons ^^
