Question of the Windrust Mission 1-3

Finally I realised I have to do the Missions given by gatehouse in order to achieve Rank 2...(Otak is lv 16 right now). I finished 1-1 and 1-2 quickly in 2hours as I can solo them. But I got some question on the mission 1-3...

The description of the mission is:
After you talk to the guard, he sends you to the Rhinostary in Windurst Waters. Walk up to the roof and talk to Leepe Hoppe. He gives you food and water to take to Giddeus.
Head to Giddeus (NW Corner of West Sataburata). Look for two Yagutos. They are at opposite corners of the zone. Give them the food and drink and return to Leepe. Then report to the gate guard for Rank 2 and 1,000 Gil.

When I talked to Leepe Hoppe, he was panic because he did something wrong to the food offering (mixing something likes apple vinegar that the Yagudo hate). he then asked me rushed to Giddeus and change the food offering sent by other adventurers.

I found that I have NO keyitem of "food" or "drink" obtained from Leepe Hoppe! I keeped talking to Leepe, He repeated the same phase of apple vinegar....=_=

Then I walked to giddeus, found the two Yaguto NPCs.
I talked to the one at H-7, it didn't mention anything about the food and drink. Then I talked to the one at G-7, I remembered it said something about I must walk into the tunnel(or caves?) behind it ...and then I was killed by two aggro yagudos there...(/cry)

Did I make any mistakes??? But why I didn't get any relative keyitems when starting the mission?....
The main question is why I didn't obtained any "food" or "drink" to bring to the Giddeus?

Anyway, I did the mission on my own, because all the mosters outside the caves are too weak to me.

It's hard to find people to go with me .../_\

I did this mission and I don't remember any problems with it. Did you actually get the mission from the gate guard or did you just head out and talked to Leepe on your own?

it is a soloable mission at lvl 10 so thats ok. But yes, did you receive the mission from the gate guard? (Check your missions log).

Hmmmm if i remember correctly, the food offering mess-up was a quest .....u must've talked to a chef from the culinary guild......and u have to go into Giddius into one of the caves and find the Yagudo alter where they give the offering.....
"A crisis in the making" i believe is the name of the quest.....

But as for the mission, maybe talk to one of the guards again......leepe hoppe should give u the food and drink....hes located on the roof of the rhinostery........

I tried to post a response to this earlier today, but my internet was being stupid. But yes, like Kitana said, what you got was a quest. You need to talk to the guy on top of the Rhinostery for the food offerings (the guy you need always speaks in rhymes; that's how you'll know it's him). You should never have to go into the caves at all for this mission, which is why you can solo it at low levels. I did it solo as a level 8 THF, so you shouldn't have a problem.

I DID recieved the mission from the gatehouse, and the current mission shown in log was really this one.

From your response I'm sure I've talked to the wrong NPC ..oops

...hmm...I didn't notice the name of the "food offering mess-up" quest NPC (A taru standing on the cooking pot)
Because I only paid attention on his words...the 1-3 mission and quest both are about food offering to Giddius=_=

I just finished the mission and Otak is Rank 2 now!

What a BIG mistake I'm made before, I should put more attention of the strange NPCs' names next time when I do another mission or quest=.="

It was so silly for me that I only headed to the culinary guild once I got the mission--- because of the word "food offering" from the gate guard and did not look at the map carefully.

Anyway, I was killed again after I finished the mission in Giddius...
Because I met another player, same level WHM, she was doing exactly the "A crisis in the making" quest. I made a party with her and went into the cave...haha
This time we were killed by 3 aggro Yagudos. XP

Yeah the food offering mission is for slightly higher levels.

I was just about to do this mission to get my sorry behind to rank 2.
This is helpful, as I don't want to make the same mistake and get myself slaughtered.

You Also got a quest worth 400 G

The initial description of the response about mixed up food offering sounds very much like the "A Crisis in the Making" Quest, which requires you to go to the treasure room in the cave, and obtain the key item "Food Offering". This quest pays 400 G, and is repeatable. Because of the MOBs on the way to the treasure room, I would recommend that you either go solo after lvl 18, or go as a full party after lvl 14. You can also combine this quest with the quest "Early Bird Catches the Bookworm", which you can get from Tosuka-Porika at Windhurst Waters, that pays 1500 G. Which makes it a 1900G trip.
