Question regarding Windower but PC related (Direct 3D?)

Looking for some help with a problem that is both PC related and windower related. (Hope this is the right forum to ask this question)

I've actually had this problem for more than a year, but after never being able to figure out how to fix it, I just gave up. However now a friend is having the same issue, and I would really like to be able to find out how to fix this.

The problem is that after having installed the latest version of windower (3.41) we are no longer able to log into FFXI using the regular POL viewer.

After trying to login through FFXI POL Viewer, and getting to the FFXI menu to click "Play", we receive this message:

Terminated as error occurred in FINAL FANTASY XI. Failed to initialize Direct3D. Please check that this computer has the required specifications to run FINAL FANTASY XI. (-1)

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, because prior to installing windower, logging in through POL had worked fine. Nothing else had been installed or uninstalled.

So if anyone can give some trouble shooting, please do! Thanks in advance!

Alright, I was given the solution so I thought i'd share it with anyone who might experience this problem:

1. Open the "launcher.ini" file located in your windower folder
2. Edit the X & Y settings to match any of the following resolutions:

800x600
1024x768
1280x1024

3. Log back into FFXI using windower
4. Logout of FFXI, with /shutdown
5. You should now be able to login to FFXI using POL Viewer
