I've seen sceen shots lately with what appears to be some kind of .dat file swapped out to make the Names and Icons next to the names appear more "cartoony". Does anyone know what this is and how I can get this lol?

Anyone having problems with this now? I tried changing my font .dat last night and I found that to be the cause of the critical crashes I was getting.

Been using Brandson's since the last version update, no problems.

However every time I start the game up, I get that stupid Microsoft Error Reporting tool pop up saying that POL has caused a critical error and needs to close. If that's what you're getting (pops up just before FFXI goes fullscreen), just move the warning message off-screen and ignore it. Game runs fine even though that thing says it's crashed.

I've tried it 3 times and all 3 times i've failed. First it was with the tell-chime, and then when i recieved smithing imagery. If you use the check files option on the POL viewer log in screen, it will fix it up.

I was told it was updated, but after 3 tries I just gave up. Its cute, but i can live without it.

I would assume that I would then need to run the dreaded windower. The popup is what makes me lose full screen which essintially closes the game. I don't think I am going to mess with the Windower. I just liked the crispness of Brandson's font choice. The default font always seemed slightly soft, fuzzy, and harder to read.
