The artifact and limit break quests for the blue mage, corsair, and puppetmaster jobs will be added in the next version update! More details here.

The version update was scheduled to take place in mid-July, but has been postponed until late July.

The artifact and limit break quests for the blue mage, corsair, and puppetmaster jobs will be added in the next version update. You must have attained a certain level with each job to access its new quests.

New Artifacts
The artifact quests are continuations of the previously available "An Empty Vessel," "Luck of the Draw," and "No Strings Attached" quests. Like the artifact quests for other jobs, there will be three quests for each new job that the player must complete in order to attain the artifact weapon and two pieces of armor.

The other three pieces of artifact armor will not be available in coffers, but instead can be obtained by a new method. The Aht Urhgan areas are for high-level players, and placing coffers in these areas would make the artifact quests significantly more difficult than those for the other jobs.

Limit Break Quests
The NPC Maat, famous or even infamous for his part in previous limit break quests, will not be appearing in the new quests due to his lack of expertise in the jobs of the Near East. Instead, the player will have to battle against important figures for each job in order to breach their innate limits.

You must complete the three artifact quests for each job before attempting its limit break quest.

Bah, postponed -.-

Kinda wondering what they will do instead of coffers, seems cool. Sucks we have to wait but meh lol

Aaaw this sucks for me.. I'm a thf. I wanted coffers to pick.
I wonder what the af weapon on cor will be.

This makes me sad yet incredibly happy. I'm glad for a couple things:

1. No more friggin coffer hutning (I hope).
2. The AF is being added!

Seems the downsides are of course that the update was postponed. This is one of the few updates that I've been really seriously looking forward to, actually counting down the days. Now it's been pushed back and they don't even have a solid date (Thus nothing but speculation).

It's also somewhat upsetting that we STILL have no word on if any other jobs are going to be "balanced" with this update, which is more than likely the foremost change that people are looking for (Chocobo raising and AF for the new jobs are a close second I'd say).

I myself am looking forward to SE finally giving BST something that makes us better in parties (Since SE seems hell bent on putting us there) as well as updates to actually make PUP useful and perhaps address the lack of available guns and bullets for COR (especially the lack of hexaguns, which were originally touted as the COR's main type of gun).

It's also a little disturbing to think that you may have to beat G5 again with the new jobs (Even if you already have beat Maat) and fight new people. I doubt they'll make us fight these people on the new jobs to increase the cap to 75... but I'd hate to have to go through the same ordeal I went with fighting Maat.

Overall though, I think this next update will be great. Chocobo raising, changes to digging and gardening, new AF quests, and the possibilty for more much needed job balancing.

Bout freakin time..

Mid-July.. to Late July.. O. o you people cant wait 1 or 2 more weeks?! I'm glad they didnt say "we were gonna do it in July, but I think Late December would be better". - .-"

Saying we are disappointed it is delayed is quite a bit different than what you are implying.

No thanks. If I wanted to swing an axe in a party I'd level WAR instead. Besides, the expansion zones make it easier to not go the party route. They take the pain out of some of the old hump levels people had to face before and Sanction is a godsend. Just have to know where to go and what to kill.

let them take there time ... they may add one new thing or two

Agreed, and while this may seem as blasphemous to a lot of the BST community... I'd like to see something about BST updated that benefits both solo play and party play.

I level in parties with LS members quite a bit now that I'm in their level range and am tired of seeing parses involving me being at the bottom rung of the DD ladder. In my last party Langly (NIN/WAR) and Faule (THF/NIN) were out DDing me; Langly by about double my damage and Faule by a few thousand overall.

Ideally SE could make a change that would allow BST who enjoy soloing to continue to play that way (I certainly would love it) while allowing those of us who enjoy partying to become more effective. While the ability to charm links and use pets in battle is great for solo play, in a party situation links don't arise too often and when they do parties generally prefer they are slept as opposed to you trying to charm them (and risking multiple mischarms and thus more wasted MP than if they had just slept it).

Jug pets are usually no match for an IT mob which parties frequently fight; lacking the accuracy to do any form of significant damage. While they are undoubtedly better than DRG wyvern, there's a large difference in that a DRG is the main source of damage and the wyvern is an addition to that. BST however are usually about tied with their pet, if not being overtaken by them completely. If the pets don't stand up to IT mobs to make up for BST own shortcomings (the reverse of DRG and his wyvern), it diminishes our effectiveness in a party situation. That's fine for BST who want to solo (most of them), but for the few of us that party, whether it be with LS mates or pickup parties, it creates a problem.

Beastmasters aren't bad in parties, they are definitely worth any invite you toss at them. Just don't expect them to put out the same sort of numbers as a MNK or WAR/NIN.

Ultimately, if I HAD to choose I'd want something that would update our effectiveness in the solo arena, because honestly we already have too many DD who look for invites every night. An update that benefits both would be awesome though.

All I gotta say is..hallelujah! I've been waiting at 53 for the past 3 weeks now, another few weeks won't hurt. The Limit Break quest is interesting to, makes me wonder who will be kicking my ass @ 70, since I'll have to do it O_o

Still no word on relic armor from Dynamis? Cythe will be heart-broken. He's saving up all his high bids for BLU gear.

If it even comes from Dynamis zones, the 3 new jobs didn't have a Hydra Corps, so possibly won't. Although I don't think they'll add in relic this update anyways. The 3 new jobs appear to be doing things in their own mold, no AF coffer pieces, no Maat fight to break the lvl 70 cap, so we'll see.

Wait wait wait...I'm kinda interested in doing the new limit break even though I dont need to >.> No maat eh

I'm happy they are delaying the update. Maybe a little selfish, but meh. More time for 3 man assaults XD

I wonder where BLU, COR and PUP tests drop.

If you fight someone else, you might not need tests ;x
