Quetz flaming on Spiritz

Ok, I have been seeing alot of flames on Spiritzunleashed latly and the last one i seen read,"you should just stop socializing with them". So what i want to know are we all really guilty by association or would it be considerate to seperate the characters from the Linkshell and choose who you want to socialize with. I don't know many but i would judge or critisize you for the linkshell you are in so i would hate for people to ignore me, judge me or critisize me for the Link I am in

Eh, gotta give people more than 4 minutes, many will not find this topic all that post worthy.
 
You have Taray, Bildozer and Topler in your LS? Yeah they camp with alleged(I wrote alleged for Padington, so he wouldn't kill himself) RMT. And you had Peterli and Breezer? Those are the alleged RMT. That's not exactly saying "Were a family linkshell!".

Oh and you should tell Taray that if he wants to tell me big bad curse words over the internet, he should just do it on his main char, and not on his mule.
 
Truth is-- I really don't know if I have encountered anyone from your linkshell. However, why isolate it to just this particular LS-- and generalize it to fit for most shells. I mean, from the time I've been playing I've come to realize there are assholes in every single linkshell ever made. And yet, there are also some really awesome people in just about every shell as well. You always have the good with the bad. Politics really shouldn't be the basis of how we formulate our opinions of groups, but saddly, it becomes human instinct just like stereotypes in real life. For a time, I never liked rangers much (before their nurf), and would normally always try to find a thief to fill their position in a party. Did it mean that every ranger that I'd have in a party would be an elitest and feel his dot was god's gift to our party? No, but with enough of them at the time having such a mentality I couldn't help but think that if I invited a ranger to party I would have just as bad of a party experience. This was a while back, mind you, and after time progressed within the game I came to meet several rangers that I really enjoyed playing with and still continue to play with. (*Not intending to make a derail.)

Ok, associate this to all Linkshells. "Suppositly" bad links but extremly good people, should these two be deeply associated . . . . . (and i don't know how to spell -?suppositly?- <~please help me on that)

and i share a linkshell with alot of good people would you negate their precense because of me
 
im part of SU but hey i dont wanna be involved in this.

Sad as it is....the News Flash here Ark is that our server is filled with judgemental people who lump everyone from an LS into the same catagory. It's wrong...it's terribly unjust and shows a complete lack of integrity from those who indulge in it but the sort of people prone to do this are not the sort of people you should worry about. Jean Paul Sarte said "Hell is other people" and our server has become living proof of this. Doesn't mean we can't change it for the better though....just means it won't be easy. Thank you.

I think you are approaching this from a different angle than most. The questions one needs to ask himself or herself is:
1. What is my most precious resource while in game?
2. What is my most abundant resource while in game?

The answer to #1 will be "time" for the majority of players.
The answer to #2 will be "other players" for the majority of players.

Those who do not have much time and who have a large supply of players to choose from, have simply no need to find out for themselves whether all player of a certain LS are assholes. They are just as happy to assume that all are just because they know that a few are, and pick someone else to play with. It is simply more practical and efficient to do so. Is it fair? LOL, of course not, but life isn't fair.

Integrity comes into play when those who think of themselves as good players, or perhaps good people, associate themselves with those who suck at the game, or at life. In an online game reputation is all a player has, it's the next most valuable thing after play-time.

I don't believe Quetzalcoatl is any different than any other server in this game, or any other MMO. The value of reputation and guilty by association is as old as MMOs, I have certainly seen it in every MMO I have ever played.

What you can do to remain in a linkshell with your friends and preserve your reputation is to remove the bad apples from your shell. It isn't fair to judge a whole ls based on the misdeeds of a few individuals, but in the eyes of most people, not taking action against these people (breaking their pearls) is equivellent to supporting them. So in conclusion, if you know who the person is that's giving your ls a bad name, remove the person from the ls. If removing the person from the ls is unsatisfactory to you, because this person is a good friend, or you don't think the person really did anything wrong, than you are in fact deserving of any reputation that person had gotten for him/herself. Removing your bad players and making the action known to the public (a post on QCDN would do I imagine) would probably solve all your problems. Every LS occasionally finds itself with a troublemaker in their ranks. The better linkshells don't tolerate it.
 
Your right Ark and it's not you but others in the ls that do things that people should just not associate with , there are a few that are really cool people its just others and we shouldnt crizitcize the whole ls b/c there are some really cool people in SU ...... but anyways done with this subject .
 
Just thought I would add my 2 gil. There are alot of great people in SU, as I at one time before I took a long break, I was in this LS. The problem with big LS's is you don't get to see all of everyone at once and some bad apples are hard to find and weed out. The concern I know many people have come to address are the speculation of gilsellers in SU.

Personally, I hold very few people by asscociation to LS and more to the person they are. The problem with alot of people getting flamed from SU is not due to the LS as a whole, it's a matter of ALOT of people are in this LS and it just makes it seem like there are alot of people getting flamed from it. Per capita, it might be less then alot others ;)

Now the issue with potential RMT is another thread all together....
 
Personally, I don't think it matters what LS you are in. HOWEVER... please recognize that there are people who make this game more difficult than it needs to be and this affects everyone. It's like *cough* having gilseller links on your site. The real question is what are you doing, being in such close proximity to the problem to fix the problem or are you supporting the problem?

If I'm just the bank robber's friend and I'm sitting in the car outside the bank waiting for him to come back so we can go to Popeye's Chicken (with his new found cash) will the cops really care that I'm personally not a theif? The answer is no.

What people need to realize is that there are ways to support gilsellers without actually helping them camp. We are all guilty a little because we sell our own stuff at their inflated rates which they are happy about because it legitimizes their price and they can now go higher. Think about it. But I think its worse to actually be friends with them because you make them feel comfortable when they should be completely criminalized, demonized, and shunned for the greater good of the game. If they really are your friends why are they helping to screw the game up for you, their friend?
 
This is an EXTREME example and should be read as such, but if a bunch of guys wander around in white sheets burning crosses, but 5 of the guys with them just hang out in the back of the group doing nothing, those 5 guys are still gonna be viewed by the community as evil.

The same can be said in reguards to linkshells. We will always be judged by the company we keep.
 
You tell us to not associate poor players, RMT and other stupid crap to SU.... you show me a week without a NEW or the SAME SU person getting flamed.
 
Um... who would judge our LS? So what there are a few bad eggs we're all nice. Just because you think something doesn't mean it's true. Don't believe most of the BS on these boards about SU most of it's from former members that got in a dispute with one of the bad eggs. We're nice and we don't bite. So back off and don't judge on the LS for a few members or your stupid assumptions you're just making yourselves look like stupid ????ing ???hats.
 
I like SU, when i go in there, i never see anyone being an ass or a "bad" person.
