Quetz Radio Show

Today, I happened upon an idea that I kind of left on the way side a few months ago..

We all know Pet Food Alpha and their podcasts, but I was thinking of putting together a show for maybe a few hours a day or week when I have time.

Basically, You would log on to something like live365. listen in to QCDN topics, opinions, send me tells and have questions answered, listen to music (all kinds) and the such.

This is just in the muddling stages as I have been considering how to put it together all morning but.. I need to ask if there would be any interest in this kind of thing.

The cost to run a show online if minimal, but if only 1 person shows up per week, I really cant justify that.

Sooooo...

Does this idea win? fail?
does it have potential?
Is there one out there already that I might be intruding on?
Any interest at all?

Comments and constructive critisism is appreciated. Please dont post "u r n00b lawl". If you think this fails, tell me why.

Short Term Goals:
Provide a funny atmosphere for the topics that happen around Quetz in a real time situation you can listen to during HNM camps, dynamis, ect.

Answer questions sent in by tells or emails for opinions on situations ect.

Provide "commercials" for LS looking to recruit for various areas of FFXI, constructed by the LS leaders themselves.

Anything that might make FFXI a little more fun for a daily / weekly basis.

Long Term Goals:
More hosts, Events, Giveaways, Contests, ect. (In game prizes)

So, Post comments please. Again, this idea is just muddling about so please post what you really feel.


*Edit* I will also be talking to PFA to make sure there is no 'bad blood' between them and myself if I start this up. Be like a sister station.

It, like all other podcasts based on FFXI have potential, its just trying to provide something that the other radio shows dont. I've listened to Pet Food Alpha and Limit break radio, both arent too bad considering they dont get any money and just do it for the fun of it. Right now I see PFA like a college radio station; awkward pauses/rambling/lv 70 Drg "guests". Seriously, get someone who has more experience in the game then a guy who hasnt even gotten to sky yet. I swear its like I was listening to a pod cast that was done in '04. Whats funny is that Limit Break Radio tries to make it seem like an actual radio station; music in the background/hammy sounding "DJ" the works.

i couldn't tell if it was a flesh-colored bodysuit or a bare-ass until stine pointed it out to me, and upon closer inspection (insert nerdy giggle here for 'closer inspection' of a rump), it made me scratch my head that anyone would find that offensive or nsfw lol.

Currently at 7. If I choose to use Live365, I'll have to upgrade from 10 spots to fill the need.

Need more input. What would you like to hear? What problems do you think I'll see? I could start it up now with 7 but i'd like to see how far this will run.

I'll leave this post up for a week or 2 and see what everyone thinks.

Gonna compile a list of ideas of what everyone would like to see as well. Radio Stations have people sitting in a board room for this. I have QCDN. Idea's away!

i used to do this stuff for a couple of sites, i had commercials and all kinds of crap, was fun. I used Sam broadcaster so look into that! lets people choose the songs they wanna hear from a webpage then loads it into the list immediatley, even lets them add shout outs to the song request

Ill check that out. I was using Live365 before. Ill mess around with em both.

Sounds interesting for sure, but tricky on how to run; a lot of people already have a bad or mixed feelings interpretation of the site. We could have like debate hour on whatever then etc. and etc. One would just have to be careful from letting one part of the show become dominant over the over(read: a FB, most infamous section, radio).

Obviously, since its new and I havent ran a radio "show" before, it might be an hour or 2 every few days. Monday-Tuesday I have Salvage and Dynamis, close to when I get home, so there is no point for me to get in a pt. Thinking about putting it in when I have a few hours before an event to pass the time.

Interview players, talk about setups, whos looking for statics, crack some jokes about RMT/SE/Banes on society ect. Throw in some RL stuff since a lot of people on quetz dont live in toronto / canada.

It'll be more of a hobby than a concrete thing at the moment. After seeing the pole results, there is enough momentum(sp?) that I could get this thing off the ground now and see how far I can run.

The debate thing was something I thought of since many people have different opinions, but I would make sure it was all kept civil. If it wasnt I would cut it off. Dont need to be starting a war over a debate eh?
