quetz. United linkshells poll

would you be a part of the QUL (Quetzalcoatl Unithed Linkshells

  • Total voters

Alot of shells has had a dark path, but this dont mean there is not room for change. If we could break down the walls we could accomplish so much. We all had some thread at 1 time or anouther on the flame board and we all had ccing spares at 1 time or anouther. That does not mean all hope is lost. Heck It is these defaults that people are saying here is what I as a person whould like to see rezolved.

now just because there would be A QUL does not mean there be know cc or even lotting to see who will get pop, because let face it that tont going to happen. What be better would be a code of conduct (something like a geniva convention) some shell already have one, but if we could make a united one maybe there would be least tension between shells.

If i am going to be honest i don't think this will work.

I think you would be alot better off starting a new thread with your "geniva convention" and clearly phrase your intentions.

When i first read this i had images of you wanting the LS's to take turns claiming NMs and similar acts which would never realistically happen.

However i think that your Code of Honor between linkshells could be a big success and greatly cut down endgame drama.

Like i said i would aim for the likely instead of the near impossible. But should you try to get the QUL up and running best of luck.

every LS should deserve a chance. We need representatives, not judges

I would do it but I just don't see this happening.

it won't work when every ls is trying to one up each other.

Nothing personal, but that attitude is the main reason WHY it wouldn't happen.

And it's because it won't work that people have that attitude! It's a vicious circle.

was a good idea but never work every one has different ideas and times not work for every one and not be possable, people will disarge and then the heat will get turned up. People then will start hunting in the time that they did not say they will not hunt in to anoy other ls and it becomes a big fight and the RMTs will just laugh at those Lses

Not quite. It would work, but would require some fairly draconian measures to MAKE it work, and I don't know if people are quite up to the challenge. I'm willing to try, of course, but it would require a fairly solid consensus to begin with.

You see that votes? its not working already.

Because people are convinced it won't and are unwilling to put for the effort to MAKE it work. Are you paying attention?

As much as I'd love to see a UN of Quetzy End Game LSs formed... I really don't see it working well. And the reason is greed. There are far too many greedy people in this game that think they deserve everything with little or no work.. some could be leaders of shells and just hide it well, who knows. Set up a set of rules that are truly fair and people will still say they are unfair if they aren't getting anything (even if they haven't shown up or contributed at all to deserve getting anything). And with all these people saying it's unfair there would be no real punishment. Sure you can punish and say things like "well every LS in the alliance won't take you" but that doesn't really restrict them as I'm sure you won't be able to get EVERY LS to join (the skeptics that don't even care to try or those LSs that might think they don't need this alliance at all or the LSs that just don't even really know about it due to language problems i.e. JP Linkshells).

If you can truly get every end game LS to join, a set of fair rules to all, punishments that will truly punish those individual or entire LSs that break the rules and enforce it all.. well that'll be impressive and perhaps it'll work then. However, the time it would take seems far more than anyone has. Oh well, good luck. I'll still be a part of this if it'll be attempted. It can't hurt to try. I'm not representing any LS though and I won't say anything about it, I'll just let Cythe speak for that.

And uh, I tried to set up at least a discussion board before, which may or may not have developed into something more like a 'UN', but interest was really low. Looking at this poll's results, still the majority are not gung-ho for this idea. There is too much history, unfortunatly, between many of the shells that are established today. I bet some of the "no"s were made with the consideration that it would mean co-operating with a shell they have a bad history with.

History and existing animosity asside, people's willingness to talk will greatly depend on the topics you plan to discuss. If you want to talk about schedualing less conflicted times in Sky, or establishing a set of ethics for certain situations (two groups arrive at <insert pop NM here> at the same time, who gets to go first?), that may get a good response... if you want to talk about doing a rotation on high-demand HNMs though, or ethics in certain other situations (who gets to claim after a wipe? /random rule only works if everyone, including japanese shells, agree to it...), very few people would be willing to discuss those topics. anyway... I know i haven't followed the OPs request, but agreed with uzor that the topic needed to be fleshed out a bit more...

As a leader in Perseverance, I dont understand what this is supposed to do?

Talk about what? What is there to talk about? You want to know if I'll give you ToD on Fafnir if you happened to not be able to put one body there in the zone? Umm, no...

Until I see any point at all to this "UN," I say no. I'll work with shells to a point, but no one gets hand outs.

I do believe the point behind this is to return to the honor bound routes that other games had.

Everquest, in its early days, had a VERY honor based thing with competed mobs. They would see who wanted it, which guilds (think linkshells) and set up a rotation of who could have the claim and loot. Everyone would get their fair turn at it, and no fighting would arise. This, of course, took cooperation and anyone who broke the honor was blacklisted from help/exp/attendance what have you.

Some other servers have a similar thing going on with linkshells so it has worked in the past. The problem is getting rid of all the squabbling from the past and starting with a clean slate. That is the biggest thing standing in the way of this working. The only other problem is that we would be hard pressed to get the JP half of the server to jump on the bandwagon.

I don't have leader status in any endgame shell but I'd be all for seeing it happen. Cooperation like that would also help alleviate some of the stress in endgame about showing up and claiming day after day after day. You'd have set days to show up, and an almost guarantee at the mob and whatever drops it has.

SephirothzArmy - Unsure

I'm not interested in joining a UN that does not have an organized code of ethics to consider before making up my mind. If you establish something that I can hang my hat on, then sure I'll support it wholeheartedly. But there must be consequences to breaking these code of ethics, and I'm not sure how any defiance of the code could be repaired.

I mean, even if you start with the basics:

1. No MPK
2. Wait till the whole LS wipes before reclaiming an NM
3. Sharing and not Falsifying ToDs
4. No countercamping

If an LS were to break such codes of ethics, what would be the consequences? Fine an LS? Booting from the Council? Then we're back to square 1 ~ some people trying to make it work, and others taking advantage.

An honorable LS depends on its leaders to instill good values upon its members. If you start from within your shell and then extend it to the council and have 100% participation from all NA end-game LS, then this really stands a chance.

I like the idea its time we get the NA shells together and startat least some sort of code of conduct.

My suggestion to the OP is to maybe draw up some rough draft that the others can see then do a poll in fact I will help right up some sort of charter if you will that would be just a draft. I think that if we can get some sort of diplomacy between the endgame shells we can possibly accomplish more within our own shells. PM me and I will help you I think it could work if people were open minded and maybe willing to let some past issues go. Problem no wis you have an awsome idea but its vauge so many are unsure. I would like to help you get your idea off the ground.

All the different endgame shells dont have to like each other but we should be able to get along and act civil to each other.

A couple basic ideas have been posted already the no MPKing is good althogh I support fair competion so I think its ok to CC another shell as long as everyone is on the level no hacks no bots no cheats of any sort. and yes no stealing once it's claimed of course if the entire shell wipes then it woul dbe fair game. Although this idea extends beyond just HNM and could be a tool to help solve conflicts. maybe a clause to help other shells on Pop NMs if said shell had low numbers things like that.I also agree that sharing ToDs is prolly not a good thing each shell should be able to do it's own thing and that these guidelines would just help everyone get along. also I do not think the JP shells will work with us in fact we need to get organized to compete with them. These are just a few ideas and it will take many revisions. But a draft at least would give us somewhere to start. If noone objects I will start a draft if others want to help that would be great.

The thing i see is everyone is talking too much. We have to TAKE ACTION NOW, if we want to work towards a unity.

How can that be accomplished?

The way i see it. Everything begins with smaller shells merging. BS and Pride aside, this is for the strong hearted. Start the /tells, meetings, creation of rules and pearl handouts.

Decide on a Leader (The leader has to be a current LS leader who is the most time ONLINE).

When the shell is formed and has a lot of players on it. All the remaining bigger shells will see a big movement and will probably decide it's time to join or not. The hardest challenge this project will face will be the destruction of Leader's Egos. All current LS leaders will have to become sackholders (i see no difference between a sackholder and pearlholder because i have seen pearlholders that have the drive and strong will to act bigger than some sackholders).

It will begin small and eventually grow to legionary proportions. Maybe soon we will all be united under one color and the people who said it couldn't be done will take back their words.

Just as the flameboard was eradicated in a moment, making the way for a better future. Take that as reference of things once thought impossible to do. This can be done. What we need is action, not words.

merging shells whould not work; here is why. You would get the restless people effect because A) it take to long for 1 person to get armor B) there would be alot of people not doing anything while fighting (people dont like to do nothing). Maybe allieing shell during big battle or during sea but for sky and smaller hnms merging shells would not work
