Quetzy LotRO Kinship?

LotRO = RagnarokOnline private server? If so we're sortof not allowed to dicuss such things on the open forum, rule about piracy. ^^;

Really though, I can't keep up with all these name abbreviations. After a while their names all just start to overlap on eachother...
 
YHimP. That's the new game the ladies of Quetzy are playing. Wouldn't you like to know what that stands for?

Its alright, i'd give it a 6 out of 10. Graphics are nice to look out but not superb, the gameplay is a little slow compared to most other mmorpgs. The service and staff however seem to be top notch for a change.

I only played for a little while at a friend's place, but I'd give it a 7. It did feel much slower "combat-wise" than WoW. The character creation was pretty minimal, aside from the multiple hair choices. (btw, all the male Elf hair sucks.)

I thought the classes were so weird. At first, I couldn't understand what was what. Burglar, Lore-Master, Champion, etc. And there isn't really a mage class, which makes jason sad in the pants. (I know like Lore-Master shoots fire or whatever, but he's really just throwing hot coals at the monster (somehow.) And lolminstrel, pointing his guitar like a gun during 'attack' songs.)

I liked the visuals, and one time, during a little cut scene thing, Gandolf saved my life. Nice.

Is there a way to fight huge wars in this game? That would be the deciding factor for me.
 
Anyone play on Nimrodel? Most of my characters are on that server. Current main is a 19 Guardian. And Pasquale the reason why there aren't any mage classes per se is because there really isn't any magic in LotR except for Gandalf, Sauruman, and the Brown wizard guy (not counting Sauron).

Also, does anyone else notice some extreme douchebagery with some of the player base?

Two examples from yesterday:

- I'm walking around killing things, when I spot a chest. I ran up to get it, but I noticed someone was standing behind it, fighting off a few mobs. I threw him a heal and backed off, because I'm not a dick, and he saw it first.

Five minutes later, I was being mauled by a bunch of guys. The chest guy ran past, stopped to watch me die, and then left. Thanks for the help, you ass.

- I got a party (fellowship?) invite to do a bunch of quests. Three us us headed out to do the quests. I got killed, which sucked, because the minstrel in our group wasn't doing anything. A few minutes later, it happens again. I politely ask the minstrel to start healing me, and he kicks me out of the group.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't the minstrel like the 'white mage' for the game?

If we do pick a group server, I vote not Brandywine.
 
Yeah Brandywine sucks because that was one of the original test servers and one of the early Open Beta servers so there are a lot of people on it, which means a larger pool of asshats. I played Open on Gladden and most of my characters are on Nimrodel now, which is very underpopulated. I would love to start a new character on a server with some familiar faces where we could get together 1 or 2 nights a week and do quests and raids and such. I'll want to play Guardian class of course since I love tanking! =P
