Galkaking! Prime example. 23/24 MNK (Idr for sure) who stands idly by letting me get shitbeat by a pugil while everyone is screaming "Voke!" at him. After I die and HP, I hear, "Oh, I forgot to capatilize the P in my macro." Yet, a few minutes later, a 60ish RDM comes by and bails us out of a jam, Galkaking knew exactally how to handle having a PL near. Tossin out instructions, "Don't voke it off the PL'er." "Leave it on the PL'er" Go figure, dosen't know how to make a Macro that is in the instruction guide, but damn sure knows how to have someone do the work for him.

Not to mention him MT'ing into pty, "w~" "ww~" Dipshit is as english as I am. This guys dad shoulda put that shit on his mommas titties. He's a waste of sperm.

just to point something out not saying that it why he did it but he might have just started
a) just starting using macros
b) has not used war for long time and just started playing mnk/war again so had to make new macros and made a mistake.
c) he could be a idiot newbie that just didnt know how to do the macro.
d) can be one them stuburn people that never read the instruction guide which btw does not tell you that you P in provoke so i can see how a somone can make that misatke.

i remeber when i started playing nin took me a couple try to figure out why Utsusemi: Ichi: though there are diffents here like all he had to use is the <tab> key provoke while Utsusemi you have to add the Ichi and ni parts

these are things not to get mad at it a game sit back take a couple breaths, then if that didnt help disband him or yourself and find new party

Just started by Level 23/24? I'm far from a great player, but even I started using them in Dangruff Wadi around Level 11. That was well before 11/?

How many times do you have to spam an error message in the log before you open the Job Ability list and select it manually?

Again, read the instruction manual. 23/24 levels seems an ample ammount of time, to me, to detect a spelling issue.

Mentor Search, LS chat, /sh format questions in just about any zone, just to name a few simple remedies for this stupidity.

Why not get mad? This is a very, very basic thing that this cat should have had at least a rudimentary grasp of. I refuse to accept that he simply messed up, or forgot, or didn't know. I refuse to accept such blatant disreguard for basic "Skills" should simply be accepted and seen as "Oh well, he's a n00b." The point of the OP was to say, that this is the kind of crap you see in Valkrum Dunes. It is quite depressing that stupidity such as this has progressed beyond that point.

he does so newbis qualitys
and he should have known about macros
and he was dummer then a box of rock for not going into his ablity
but you going to run into these thing from time to time and it is sad that this happen at lvl past 20's

on this case sound like he was afk during battle and covered it up with the lame exuse my macro screwed up

which is anouther problem all together
you get them party everyone had them; them party's that every 5 min a diffent person got to go afk. you no more get done with 1 battle then i got to go afk. get 2 batte down anouther person got to go afk. lot of time and exp is wasted on people going afk :(

ive done rdm/war once just messing around with vaporal and berserk it fun yes but lose to much mp and would not be that afective pass 30 when mana really start to matter. but in solo or skillup rdm/war nice rdm/nin better 8)

It used to be, you suffered through the Dunes, and went to Qufim where people started doing shit the right way.

Theres just something so wrong with this statement.

Went though Quifim almost 14 times now, I never had a nice time though quifim. Even when I thought it was nice it was only nice for quifim.

I hate the place.

People building partys to the tune of WAR, WAR, DRK, THF, THF, WHM, and then posturing and coppin attitude because the WHM can't cure all six people. That shit right there is a direct result of everyone PL'ing their way through Dunes. Yay!!! We have a WHM, let's go fight Bune! The DRK dosen't even say anything about the setup! I'd expect a little more out of someone who touts an "Advanced Job." (BTW that setup was an actual one I suffered for a very short time just yesterday.)

multiple thf setup owns, if the party built correctly. your problem there was you needed a nin or pld instead of a war (unless they were 24 nin/wars, then i dont see a problem). if the whm had trouble curing, then u needed some new tanks.

but yea i agree people are morons sometimes. once my brother had a party in the dunes that was rdm/rdm/rdm/thf/rdm/war or something like that, i dont think he (thf) stayed in that party long.

So you make leveling easier for people on your spare time?

No wonder players are starting to suck at mid range levels.

pt i was about to join last night.. pld/blm/whm/drg/thf.. and leader goes, ok we need a sam rng or war..

sure..

anyway,

i was in a party with a sam/drg the other day in qufim (not a n00b player), and the guy was kicking ass, so before you go on about crazy job combos give them a shot because sometimes people are just tryin them out to see what they can get done.. I was actually thinking of going out as war/drg a few times for jump.. ya never know people, at low levels its OK to play around with some job combos.. its when you start to get up there that things kind of get shaky..

ok.... thing just got to the extreme today. This was in Yuhtunga Jungle actually, and not Qufim.

Anyway... I get a party, 4 JP and 1 other english player. The english player sends me a tell and asks if I know any japanese. I answer that I only know some single words, like Arigatou etc. And he replies back, with this;

"ok, because I need to explain to them that I have to leave in an hour, but still want to be in the party" I was thinking, ok. he have to go in an hour. why not just tell them that? Well, I was oh so wrong. Because for an hour hour, untill we kicked him, he was standing there leeching exp! He didn't do anything, and I mean NOTHING. Just standing there pretending to be afk -.-; Eventually we just kicked him <.<; After trying to explain to the JP guys that I don't think he's coming back from his {Away} >.>

Peopel like that is why most Japanese prefer to play with other Japanese.

Gonna derail for a moment here...

...Don't even get me started on the job combo's. WAR/DRG, RDM/WAR, WHM/WAR, you know the ones, we've all seen them...

Erm, at Qufim level, what would you suggest a WAR sub (assuming it's going to be a DD WAR, not a tank WAR)? The only other sub I can think of is MNK, for Boost, but I think an accuracy bonus trait and Jump are better than that. The base stats aren't far off either.

Hey Von, I agree with you suggestion that every LS should take at least one noob and show him/her the ropes. If we all did this, it might just make things a little better on our server.

...or all our linkshelles a bit noobier.

i dont want to waste my time teaching someone how to play by inviting them to my ls when they won't listen to my suggestions in pt in the first place.

its these noobs that suck AND won't listen that truly suck.

OMG...what can I say?

This thing is getting worse every day passed...

And the worse is...What the hell can we do about this? :o

At least, when I was LS leader, I always helped the noobs. I gave them suggestions, advised, and sometimes explained step by step what to do. I sometimes waste my time PLing them without even getting a thanks.

Unfortunately, I am leader no longer, for I retired and left my brother in charge of the LS.

But I agree 100%. I have always had that idea. Of helping noobs, because, who else is gonna do it? You can't just sit there in the PC and check some Allakhazam wathcacallit and learn about this game. You gotta get someone who gets you through all of this.

But remember to never overdo it. Sometimes the noobs believe that they will ALWAYS get the help they need, and expect to rely on someone else forever. Don't let the noobs believe that. Make it clear, you are giving just a push. Not carrying them from the base to the top. They have to do the rest.

i wouldnt mind inviting someone who doesnt know how to play into my ls as long as long as they don't act like a prick when you try to help them.

too bad the mentor system doesnt work well.

I used to attempt to help out newer players but aome come with this "who do you think you are, I'm a DRG and you are a WHM, what do you know about this job?" additude. I normally don't offer help but will always help and answer every question asked. And no I do not show them what my main is either. What would lvl matter if the advice is good IMO. Beats me why someone would use Super jump @ start of battle...

When I first started on my warrior, it was a luxury to get a PL, and we learned to live without it.

Now when I try and get a low level party, a PL is expected, if not DEMANDED. I tell them we'll be fine without a PL, but they don't care apparently.

The exp/hour isn't much different anyways, fuck off.

I remember the last party I had before I retired my war at 37 was war/nin, war/nin, thf/nin, sam/thf, whm, blm or rdm. wtf setup is that? Maybe I'm to used to me tank, whm, blm, rdm/brd, DD, DD setup (I haven't had a different one in about 10 levels on pld) as this has proven to work. You can continously chain with no downtime at all if you have skilled enough players. But when you only have one person who can heal, and 4 mediocre damage dealers (the other war/nin was in tank gear, and only the thf had a good WS at that point), what do you expect? Infinite chain 5s? No. You're going to get chain 3 at most. Warrior's just aren't good tanks 30+. Get a pld or nin, you have a thf for fuck's sake!

Don't let me get started on all the war's running around with GSword's and Scythe's because they're going to be drk when they get it. I once saw a war at 49 with a FUCKING SWORD. wtf?!?!?!? "I'm only taking it to 50 so I don't care" wtf?! What type of stupid shit is this?

I hate idiots.

Speaking 100% from raw experience, the DRG "Accuracy Bonus" is complete and utter bullshit. I saw absolutley no, zero, zip, zilch, nada, evidence of this Job Trait being in any way, shape, or form apparent until I hit 72/73, in which case 90% of monsters con VT, and everyone needs less Accuracy. Myth, Myth, Myth!!!!!! This trait is complete crap!

As far as MNK vs. DRG as a sub, Your looking at exchanging a fifteen second Job Ability (Boost) as well as the Job Trait "Counter", along with extra Hit Points, Strength, Vitality, Defnse, and Mind(not that it much matters in such a case at this level) for a ninety second Job Ability, in Jump, that quite honestly, is going to miss 70% of the time. DRG is not a viable support role at any level, IMO. The most one could gain from subbing DRG is two Job Abilities, with sizeable delays I might add, 1.5 min for Jump, 3 min for High Jump. Without a Wyvern, a DRG is basically a Polearm Warrior with Shitty Vitality. Subbing DRG is basically like having WAR/WAR-

The Strength, Vitality, and Defense bonuses added from a good solid MNK support job offer far more versatility for a WAR main. IMO, a WAR should be profecient in many different weapons (Axes, Great Axes, Sword+Shield, Great Sword, and maybe a touch of Polearm and Scythe) as well as dual roles, that of DD and Tank. Where does the MNK support job fail in either tank or DD capacity?

This is all of course providing that we are discussing a newer player who has yet to reach the required level to unlock the Ninja job.

All a war needs is an axe+shield and great axe. I subbed thf on my war till level 30. Why? I'm elvaan and the extra dex from thf will help make up for that racial handycap.

War can also sub thf for SATA Raging Rush, however I've never seen it done in an exp party... I don't know why, it sounds like it'd be good.
