An antispyware program recognized an ffxi file, playonline/squareenix/finalfantasyxi/signature.dat, as an unknown trojan.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and if they have the file, thanks.

Maybe it's from that signature program that came out a year or so ago? Does it stop the game from loading or anything, or does it not effect you at all?

The game runs fine, I wouldnt have noticed it if the anti-spyware hadnt picked it up.
I was just wondering if it was normal. its perfectly reasonable that one of SE's files would come up as a trojan, but its also possible its from a malicious program disguising itself.

Do you have the JP client?

No, we don't have the JP client. (I'm Dannick's fiancee). when it comes to 3rd party tools.. We don't bot. We do have altana view, altana cubby, and the windower. Those programs aren't malicious, and a lot of people use them without an issue.

I would assume this file is fine. The weird thing is that I'm at work right now. I have ffxi on this pc, and don't have the file.

Stop slacking and get back to work!

I googled and found a post regarding that file and the JP client. I dunno though, you may wanna delete it and see if it comes back. (make a back up copy)

Yah, I had tried google and there was nothing really relevant. I'll go back to my ignorant bliss until my computer blows up one day.
