Quick question for a skilled Craftsman

I am currently Alchemy 58 - Craftsmen. I am leveling Alchemy for my RNG so I can synth Silver Bullets and save some nice cash. Silver Bullets are Alchemy 52 + Goldsmithing 24

My question is:

Since Alchemy is the dominate craft in this case, is that soley used to determine HQs on a dual craft synth? Or does both crafts come into play?

I would prefer to stop around Goldsmithing 30 since after I am done with Silver, my Goldsmithing costs become astronomical. So I am hoping with Alchemy 82 and Goldsmithing 24, I could see normal HQs.

/em crosses fingers.

Its been my experience that in duel craft recipies, neither craft is considered 'dominant'. You need both of adequate skill level, and both over adequate skill level for better shots at HQ.

I was afraid of that. Ugh.. I really didn't want to mess with Mythril ><

Suck it up. Making Mythril Ingots can actually turn a profit.

Yeah, goldsmithing doesn't hurt until 40+, and even then, it's only like 100k to get to 48. Then you can do gold ingots, which will break even depending on how you go about it. But at 300k per stack, you can't PL through gold. Plus there' won't be enough gold anything to PL with. I think the most I was able to make at one time is 3 stacks, then I ran out of material.

Don't buy beatcoins in bastok though, they were quite a bit more in bastok when I was leveling on gold ingots.

After 50 is when it starts really hurting. You're looking at about 8-12k loss per synth, and the skillups start to slow down a bit. I think I've spent over 300k getting 51-53, which is where I am now.

Ah cool thanks guys. I thought you lost money on Mythril Taru? Oh well, glad to see you back :)
