R.I.P Chris Benoit

There isn't a big deal, Jen. People can feel sad if they want to, I'm not saying they shouldn't. I was just expressing my opinion that his death isn't really something that affects me. It may sound callous, but it's true. To me he's just another faceless person that died recently.

It's not a good thing that life was lost, but I'm not going out to raise monuments in his honour or race everyone here into saying "RIP!". Perhaps I didn't express that clearly in my initial post.

I see whatcha mean...that's cool - you don't have to feel bad fort the guy (especially now - christ...what a shithead) ;P

I think that's something we agree on :P

It's a shame what steroids do. You don't need a history of violence to go completely ape shit from them although I'm sure that can be a catalyst to it. MTV did a True Life documentary on steroid users and it was mind-blowing to see how severe and how fast their sanity decayed away with each dose.

What an asswipe.

wow was a huge shock when i heard this

The moment my husband told me they were dead I KNEW it was murder/suicide. For me...the sadness isn't in who died...but by the senseless death/destruction of an entire family. I would be saddened to hear about this happening to anyone.

This society is going to shit...men killing their families, pregnant wifes/girlfriends...seems that we are seeing more and more of these kind of tragic events.

I'm sorry that the child and wife were killed. What a shame, shouldn't of happened. The wrestler can burn in hell for all I care though.

Edit: I found the list. More than I thought, look at all heart attacks, and other health related issues, for athletes at young age.

Yokozuna: October 22, 2000--Died from a heart attack.

"The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith: May 18, 2002--Died from a heart attack.

Bam Bam Bigelow [Scott Bigelow]--January 19, 2007--Drugs.

You know.. Those 3 I didn't know had died. I didn't recognize most of the others. I used to watch WWF now called WWE back when it was WWF. I had always wondered what happened to some of them since you just didn't see them that much or at all, in this case. I guess it makes sense knowing now that they're dead.

I haven't really watched it at all since they changed the name. The last time I really watched wrestling was back when Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and such where the big money makers, 2000-ish. I remember at some point they started doing this drama soap opera acting crap, and I just said fuck it and never tuned in again.

Anyway, fuck Chris Benoit and the crap they call wrestling these days. I do feel for the family though, its a terrible loss and a horribly way for the wife and child to die.

They did a tribute to Bulldog I know that I am not sure about Yokozuna. They wouldn't have done a tribute to someone who died of an over-dose. I am surprised they didn't do one for Bossman because wasn't he apart of security after he was done with wrestling?

I lived pretty close to Ray (Bossman) when I lived in good ol' Cobb County GA. He actually came into my retail store back when I did retail in college to buy some stuff, was a really down to earth guy. He had a few buildings and stuff he was having built for various services (like public storage and stuff). Was sad to hear that he passed when he did. :/

OMG Scary Sherri died? I hadn't heard that one. I thought it was sad when Miss Elizabeth passed, I wanted to BE her when I was a kid, in a big bad way, lol.

Society isn't going to shit. Violent crime had been in decline for years, and it's only now that it's starting to edge its way back up a bit. Mostly it's just life in the Information Age, when any local crime story can be blown up to the national level by a media hungry to fill that 24-hour news cycle.

I'd never even heard of this Benoit guy until the story about the murder/suicide broke, but it didn't take me long to think about Jimmy's very special steroid episode of South Park.

Brian Pillman also died with a heart failure. They didn't dedicate the whole show to him from what I can remember but I do remember them talking about it throughout the show and interviewing his wife on the situation at the time.

i hope i never become famous. cause if i to i'll have to follow the protpocal(sp) of drugs use and whatnot and die before my time.

people say "drugs are bad" for a reason.

I thought it was along the same lines as when Phil Hartman was murdered by his wife. Well, kinda the same. Drugs seem to be an issue when it comes to shit like this. But to murder your own child...
