To the thread keepers - this really is a good times thread 
You just have to read down to see how it became one!
lol by all accounts, it was a shitty weekend. First, trying to recover from the upgrade. The, Friday, not being able to log on at all. Saturday the same. Sunday.... FINALLY I could log in again. Had one mule with R0 at Windy Woods, Firebrand having some R0 zones, but no biggie.
Then... Limbus. Zoned into Sea from Dem.... and.... R0.
No sweat, will zone out. Oops!
To zone out of sea, you have to be able to target something and click it or to cast a tele or warp spell or use a warp item. None of which you can do when R0. Missed Limbus. Missed first run of a static I'd put together. Missed Salvage.
Tried the GM route on one of the mules, starting Sunday about 3 p.m. Eastern. Finally got a response (in messages) Monday evening. Tried at least 12 times, once hung around 2.5 hours waiting for response to GM call.
Tried POL phone service. Hmmmm Customer Support? Not till Monday 9 am Pacific time (Noon Eastern time). And starting then? Phones busy 2 hrs. Finally get in, and wait 40 minutes for live support. I learned the following:
1. The log in problem was "Not SE." Rather, there is some massive "third party" server that consolidates the feed from other servers for SE and brings them in.
2. No one in any position of authority over Cust Service or Tech Support knew there actually was a problem "until we came into work this [Monday] morning."
3. Login problem hopefully would be fixed by Mon. Evening.
4. He couldn't help me. Suggested I talk to GM (lol).
I felt just a wee teensy itsy bitsy l'il bit of frustration. You don't want to be around me when I'm really frustrated. It's not pretty. Fortunately the only physical casualty was a dessert plate that I washed too hard
Kink was here, trying to help. Suggesting things I'd tried. I was, in her words (from another time) bein a total grumpybutt. But she stayed with me, kept me calm(er), looked here (I'm technologically challenged and kinda a loner) and figured out something I hadn't tried. And, Monday at about 7 p.m. Eastern time, got me to call a friend from game who lives way east and see if he could log me in as guest.
And I was on in 15 minutes.
To Kinkkerbelle, my humblest apologies and my deepest respect and admiration for the way you have lovingly stayed by and helped ol grumpybutt, here. Sometimes I'm too thickheaded and proud (yah, and my grumpybuttness is indeed legend). Kink, thanks for helping me anyway. /kneel
To my friend. Thanks so very much! You have always been there and have always been the totally trusted one, the one who helps us see the humor of the game. /bow
