So what's the deal with the radar?
After a few years in this game I came to wonder...
Where does it come from? -Some evil taru?
What kind of gadget is it? -A thingie in ya nose that goes "blipp"?
How does it work? -Sending "blipps" ofcourse.
More exciting questions please!

But really, I want to know the idea with this radar, and
the explanation to why everyone has one.
How frequently do you use it?
I use it very rarely, and when I use it, I honestly don't know
what the *#¤% I'm doing.

What radar? The compass?
 
I use it a lot to find the location's of mobs I cant see, or my PT when Im pulling a mob. You might not know this, but only when your job/SJ is set to BST, RNG or THF (there may be some others, idk,) will monsters positions show up on your radar.

Its also useful for staying out of aggro range, because of its on your radar, chances are, it can see/hear you.

Oh ya, I do use it for directions, also.

Yeah was gonna add, either nin or war gets it. Always had dots during my static levels. Can anyone confirm or deny one of those 2?
 
I use it to see what direction I'm going all the time. Dots are overrated.
 
WAR THF BLU RNG BST SMN get it. If your main or sub is any one of those, you get the enemy dots on the radar.

Ninja gets it too, and a larger radar. Kind of a hidden thing for the job, like Wide Scan for RNG and BST.

Edit: WAR does not get Monster Radar.

Cool info, I might get my thf out for a spin somewhere to test it out.
I mean I've only had thf as main for like 200+ days of /playime. :blush:

Very useful for knowing how far away you have to run to cure yourself as bst during a fight if you eat a heavy hitter. lol.

Or seeing if theres something that can aggro around a corner. Specifically in Hu'zxoi and Ru'Hmet with Grhahs and Zdei.
 
I use it for claiming mobs. Mobs appear faster on the radar than the actual mob on the field, or if a mobs pops behind your field of vision.

Its invaluble to me in DA, because with darters dead, I can see when and where Faf pops before he's actualy there, so to speak.
 
I used radar on my rdm when camping mysticmaker it pops 1st on radar as mentioned~
 
I feel neked without my radar. I use it ALL the time. I use it to know when I can shoot at a mob without getting a "you are too far away" message. Use it to know how close I am to a mob...to avoid agrro. I use it to see if its safe to throw an AOE ws at mobs.....very helpful to me.
