Due to extreme boredom, I have come with some questions that interest me and need some info on.

#1:How effective is the combo Rdm/bst, is it only for skillup? Is there a thread that someone can point me to regarding its playstyle, I have heard it has the capability of charming up to DC.

#2:On the Wings of Fury has anyone tried a bard subbing bst or a bst subbing bard for better Chr? Your opinion?

#3:I had a #3 but my crappy memory failed on me, ho hum...

Ok i remember #3

#3: Once you charm jellies and stuff that can cast magic can you proc magic casting like the homonculus?

I think you mean hecteyes, since jellies aren't mages, and no. If they cast, it's up to the AI. It's pretty rare for a mob to cast under charm, if at all.

If you charm a hecteyes and use sic when it has under 100% tp, it'll cast a spell. This is all kinds of fun while doing Sacrarium CoP mission if you bring a bst. Poor Keremet doesn't like getting pwned by AM from a hecteyes, rofl.

for #2, wether its a bcnm20 wings of fury, or just a regular day with brd subed, u'll get a little extra chr. Like being a mage and subbing another mage job, u'll get extra mp. That sorta thing.

Strictly solo and skillup. As for playstyle, anything that subs BST plays like a BST. Charm is the only thing you really get out of it that's worthwhile. The general belief, also, is that your BST has to be leveled as high as the main for the best effect. A 75RDM who's leveled BST only to 37 would see some sad results if they tried to charm anything that rates decent or even to them the way a BST does. Been there, done that, couldn't even charm easy prey, learned it's little more than a ghetto Provoke. Some people get lucky every once in a while, but most don't.

As for Wings of Fury, it's pure luck. Some BSTs have stacked all the CHR gear you can wear at that level just to get mischarm after mischarm. Others have gone in naked and had no problems whatsoever. It's a total crapshoot.

I've heard 70+ rdm/bst is an ultra-godly job. And I doubt it'd have any problem charming EM pets, you'd probably just suffer a few mischarms. But as rdm you'd have access to blink, stoneskin, and phalanx so it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah it works great, but BST must be leveled to or above your main jobs level for you not to get severely owned.

I'm just drawing my own conclusion and may be totally wrong about this bit, but I would imagine equiping a Light/Apollo's staff when charming will greatly reduce the amount of mischarms you're gonna get since RDM doesn't get any +Charm gear that I can think of off the top of my head (Unless its a peice of the Ogre set, which I doubt).

Yup, Homonculus behavior noted thanks for your responses everyone.

Homonculus casts spells when its tp is under 100%

So do Hecteyes as Rappa mentioned. I've used Homonculus before. He's not worth it since he's basically a BLM and his low defense proves it.

Homonculous is probably great for Excavation duty, I've really gotta try it out sometime.

The Charm+ gear is really only for duration. We do get a lot of decent CHR gear (for success) though, and yep, the Apollo's really does reduce mischarms by heaps.

I'd say the thing about BST needing to be same level or higher than the main would be true. At 37 I had a horrible time charming stuff in, say, Ifrit's Cauldron, but now on WHM/BST I can get Ash Lizards abit over 80% of the time.

An odd bug I discovered...if you fail to charm a mob that casts (i.e. Heycteyes) then successfully charm it when it's casting a spell then sic it on a mob so it starts casting, it likes to casts whatever it was casting on you instead. I was sortof weirded out because one time I charm a Million Eyes that was casting Burn on me...and when I sic'd it on another Million Eyes, it started casting Firaga III but did Burn instead. It's really odd.

Interesting observation. I'll keep an eye out on that. It'll definately change the strategy of attacking the prey if you know what spell it's going to use. ;) But then again, I'd rather not mis-charm a Million Eyes...
