I asked and looked everywhere and everyone. Do they exsist? I'm losing 5k every 3 mins gambling ;; And i wont stop!

The /random calculation is performed server-side. That's why it takes so long for the results to fully process when you're lotting on things. Thus, it should be nigh on unhackable.

Stop feeding the casinos. >_<

Dynamis, hnm, etc would be all fuxxed up if /random hacks existed... You should be ashamed of yourself for even asking. :P

why should i be ashamed? I never knew it was server wide. Just a rumor i heard trying to get cleared.

For wanting to cheat? For wanting an unfair advantage maybe?

But notice the " :P "

I wasn't being too serious. Unless you're serious about wanting to cheat.

Oh no no, i wasn't being serious. I just seriously wanted to know the answer. It came out wrong, i thought the other guy was cheating, if he was, would have just left. Its all gravy.

Edit : I got my money back and {flee}'d for my own life.

Oooooooh. Ok. Makes sense now.

Glad you didn't lose everything gambling.

Theres theorys of /random being calculated by your computer to the millisecond and then the command being sent to FFXI servers which can get you a result in the 900's but this is pretty much retarded.

Apart from it not being hard for SE to just generate a random integer from 0-999 being much eaiser than the method I put above, the delay of sending that command over the internet to servers that are probably half way accross the world just makes the notion of being able to hack into /random and lot results completely untrue.

To my knowlege the only things you could hack into are reading information from FFXI which is in the memory of your computer (which programs like art money can do, to a lesser degree of some of the dedicated hacks for FFXI) and pretty much anything to do with movement of your character. Since if movement was done server side there'd be a wait similar to checking the auction house, just to move around.
